Wii Sports Resort can't be played on the 3ds niether can TLZ: Skyward Sword.

No, but the 3DS is getting a 3D remake of Zelda: Octogenarian of Time.

Can handheld even compete with home console? Really?

It's like saying that PDA competes with desktop PC.

So you're one of the people who will be surprised to see smartphones and tablets running smartphone software cannibalizing desktop and laptop sales over the next ten years.

At the talk of an Ocarina of time remake, why not have a FFVII remake at the same time? Its likely the only way anyone will get one in a time period which doesn't extend beyond much of the original audience dying of old age. :-p

Tease.

I am not sure how 3D is a competitor to motion control.  The 3DS has appeal for people who want to do 3D.  The Wii is for motion control.  Different animals there.

At this point, I understand I failed to make my point in the original message...

Sony's and Microsoft's were pretty confident that with the Motion control solution on their HD platforms, and even now with the 3D compatibility, Wii userbase would upgrade.

Nintendo's 3DS made such a big impact on everybody that I think that the only "upgrade" (I was being ironic about it) would be to a 3DS. Of course I am not saying they'll trow their consoles into a wardrobe or anything. Of course there are outstanding Wii games coming out soon. Specially because of this, those who were thinking about getting a plus to increase their gaming experience, may reconsider getting an HD console and instead get a portable 3D console with great games coming out for it.

I never meant Wii will be replaced by 3DS, not at all.

I was just mocking those who said that after the HD motion solutions Wii userbase would upgrade to one of them.

you made your bed now sleep in it..lol

and

"mocking those who said that after the HD motion solutions Wii userbase would upgrade to one of them."

remember what your doing now is just what other's have done in the past

so just get ready for it when it come's back to bite you..Karma is a bitch.

I hope it was worth it.

lol

Square just explained that it would take them 30 years to make a FF VII remake. I don't think the 3DS will be around in 2027.

i think wii owners will upgrade to a 360. it has their motion controls and its HD. also the arcade is now cheaper than the wii bundle

The arcade bundle plus Kinect isn't cheaper than Wii.

i know im just saying for the casual gamers that dont yet have a console they will get the cheapest console available to them.

Some might have expected that Wii userbase was about to upgrade after what was about to be shown at E3. Both Microsoft and Sony were presenting their final versions of their motion solutions with software and were adding the 3D to the HD offering.

As I see it, Wii userbase will very much consider upgrading... To a 3DS!!!

Most of the IPs which have been left out of the Wii offering will even be included as developers have shown an unprecedent (only seen on SNES) support: Assasin's Creed, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts, Persona...

I never purchased a handheld. Never felt like doing it. Never, until now.

I doubt that Wii and the 3ds will compete against each other. The 3ds will just go hand in hand with a wii.

btw, i am also considering a 3ds, lots of cool stuff there,

more like they will just port FF VII to the 3ds and just make it 3d, so they won't have to remake it. Isn't that what they are doing with ocarina of time. ?

A 3DS port of FFVII will be lovely in 3D. Imagine all the summons and Aerith's death in 3D!!!! Without the stinking glasses!!! Square if you're smart you would do this.
