Forums - Nintendo - Zelda: Skyward Sword E3 Impressions Thread

Often times, what Ninty shows at E3 is very different from what we get at retail.

The graphics were not what I expected, but as the gameplay went on, I warmed up to it a lot. I think It is a very good think the Miyamoto was embarrassed because it can lead to an effort in frther refinement.

Also, we only saw 2 locations and VERY few enemy types. 2011 is a long wait...

That was not as revolutionary as I had expected, but they really showed very little about the game.

I hope it releases in the first half of 2011, although if they need the time they need the time. I like the focus on Action, but I hope adventure aspects aren't sacrificed in the process, although chances are that probably won't happen especially considering the detail of the world, most notably when they use the beetle. Funnily enough, the items remind me of the creativity found in Mario games, as does the art direction which seems kind of like a blend of Windwaker, Galaxy, and something more realistic although nothing specifically screams Twilight Princess.

Call me crazy, I felt but that the coolest thing was that Link could sprint haha It looked so cool!

There hasn't been a run animation that great since Syphon Filter One!!!!

looks like link will be able to fly, I guess (the title, the fact that he jumps into the coluds at the end of the trailer)

I'm still very sceptic at the "wireless interferences" explanation.

I'm absolutely sure it's not a real issue and that it wouldn't have happened under normal circumstances.

But wireless interferences? If that was true, the bluetooth connection as a whole and therefor all controls should have suffered. But if I remember correctly the problem was with aiming, so there was probably simply some infrared light source that confused the infrared tracking sensor.

I am in love with the graphics . I definitely prefer this art style to anything 'realistic/more 'adult'. I'm not sure why some are judging the game so quickly? Obviously the aim of showing it at E3 was merely to showcase the motion-plus control.

Hopefully we'll see more to do with the story at the Tokyo Game Show.... or perhaps the E3 roundtable XD.

"Watching that demo first hand I can tell you exactly why Miyamoto was having a problem: Wii Motion Plus can use the infrared sensor bar to recalibrate itself, and with the audience filled with devices emitting infrared, it was throwing off the device something fierce. I had the same problem when trying to play Wii Sports Resort last year in our video studio: infrared pollution."

What is wrong with you?

The list is too large to go through, but my therapist is walking me through it.

I am so sad… :( I feel I want to cry. I mean why Nintendo this is not what I expected after you showed us the art work last year and the talks about Monster hunter graphics…

After looking at some of the screens on ign I feel so disappointed… sure I am going to buy it but it looks like animal crossing. I do not feel that the mix between WW and TP is good. If they went with WW it would be nicer…

Fuck look at the trees they look so crap and why can Mario look so smooth yet Zelda look so edgy I mean TP looked better in my eyes. I mean come on a little bit darker would not have hurt.

Zelda will never be the way I imagined it though :(

I am not saying it won’t play good but is does not look good in my eyes…

Relax, we still have a year to go.  There's plenty of time to polish it up, and I'm sure they will do just that.

I *HATE* to say this, but I'm praying for a Wii HD version similar to how TTP launched on both GC and Wii. Please Ninty, my HD screen is begging for some Hi Def loveliness...

It's Assassin's Creed time, baby! Have you seen how he climbed that cliff? I thought this was innovative and will be a key move on the final version, you people just don't see it because you don't believe in Toon Link.
