Forums - Gaming - Anyone think Spliter Cell: Conviction is the best game ever (like MGS4)?

You will see posts pop up from time to time heralding MSG4 as, "the best game ever".  Ev en recently, someone gave the game a second anniversary salute as this.  However, I don't remember seeing anyone say this of Spliter Cell: Conviction.  So, on that note, I am curious if anyone has ever declared Spliter Cell: Conviction to be the best game ever.  And if not, then why not?  In both games, they deviate from their original pure stealth form.  I personally liked MGS4 for doing this.

But, I am curious why I don't see Conviction posts heralding it as "best ever" and yet people do this with MGS4.

It might have something to do with the fact that Conviction doesn't have a very complex story told through (sometimes unbearably)lengthy cutscenes.

I reckon it's more about the story than the gameplay.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

I hated MGS4 and haven't bothered with conviction yet,so maybe these games just aren't everyone's cup of tea....however, MGS3 IS the best game ever, and years ahead of 4 imo. Conviction I hear is better than the old splinter cells, but that isn't saying much. I was very boared with them.

As for the OP, whydon't people think ANY game is the best ever?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I don't know how anyone could think MGS4 had a good story, lol. There are several parts and are unintentionally so bad that I actually burst into laughter. I thought that MGS1 had a very serious story, but the part at the end of 4 where Meryl has the shootout, omfg, lol.

Now, I'm not saying MGS4 is a bad game, or that the story sucks, ect, I'm just saying that I hated it, and I also hated 2, but I'm a huge, huge fan of the other games. In fact, I bet I'm a bigger fan of MGS1 than most people here are of MGS4. MGS4 just had too much goofy nonsensical exposition during inappropriate moments. Most of it was for me like "what's th4e point?"

MGS1 and MGS3 have more straightforward(but still complex) stories so that might be why you prefer them.
