I play tennis outside. I find Wii Tennis fun as well. Super Tennis is the best game Tennis game ever created though.
Virtua Tennis 3 is pretty cool too. Though, it's a lot more fun playing the Tennis Bingo mode and Fruit Collecting mode multiplayer then it is actually playing the matches. (Mini-games for the win?)

Man, seriously, you're right. Everyone should listen to you. Even if its too cold out, or raining, or snowing you should be outside playing those sports. Or even if you don't have access to those courts and don't want to be ripped off at sports centers to use their facilities, you should still go play. Even if you don't play them enough to bother investing the hundreds of dollars for equipment for all those sports and etc, you should still play.
Man, I think you just came up with an idea to eliminate 40% of the entire videogame industry by convincing people not to buy any sports games ever again.

No, he's not right and really has no relavance at all. Games are meant to be a source of entertainment and if people find enjoyment playing the likes of Wii Sports or Wii Fit then what's the big deal? I'd imagine that they could have played sports outside if they wanted but they chose to play a game instead, live with it.

Plenty of people predicted it would bomb or at least not be as much of a success as predicted and apart from John Lucas' crazy ass prediction (which would amount to Wii Fit having like a 70-90% attach rate in 1 week in Japan) they were either wrong (when predicting flopping from the start) or are very likely to be wrong (when predicting "merely" a few 100k to 1M).
The funniest one was hands down Tetsuo Shima who not only predicted it to flop because unlike Brain Training "it's not fun" (hmm, didn't a lot of people say Brain training was not a game but work and thus not fun when it launched???) and also said that Skiing was unnatural because he had to keep his legs too close together (I would so love to see him go down a slope with his legs apart until they each went their way, tearing the seat if his pants off and making him fall face first in some fresh snow; that ought to be a good skiing lesson for him to learn).
Now, will it be a long term success and will it be successful outside of Japan is still up for grabs but I would say yes because even though it has a good opening unlike most casual games who are frontloaded it seems to be a casual game par excellence and should thus have strong legs with even a possibility for it to outsell Wii Sport (in Japan only obviously).
As for America and Europe I think it will be successful both with people trying to lose some weight and with fitness-minded people using it as a fun complement to their usual regimen.

Maybe some people who don't currently get any excercise can benefit from moving around a bit. Why is it your business how they do it, and why would you criticize someone who might gain a positive benefit from playing a video game. I'm glad you get your excercise. Lots of people don't. Lighten up, maybe they will too.
