Mega Man Online Officially Announced, Coming To PCs

By Spencer . June 4, 2010 . 12:17am

Neowiz and Capcom officially announced Rockman Online, an online Mega Man game for PCs. A 3D side-scrolling action RPG for PCs. Being an online RPG, Rockman Online will have a perpetual growth system and varied stages to play. Capcom wants to make this game appeal to Mega Man series fans as well as general audience.

X and Zero are confirmed to be in the game along with a bunch of original characters as NPCs. Here’s art for both of them.

Rockman Online has not been announced for any other region. However, Capcom trademarked Mega Man Universe in North America and Europe. Could that be this game’s international name?

* OMG OMG OMG...... I always dreamed of a omline Megaman! and its here!!!

Neowiz Pitched Mega Man Online To Capcom

By Spencer . June 7, 2010 . 6:02am

Haruhiro Tsujimoto, Capcom’s CEO, has a few words to say about Mega Man Online. Surprisingly Korea-based Neowiz, the makers of S4 League and Warlord, brought the idea to Capcom.

“The other party [Neowiz] requested to make an online game with Rockman (Mega Man internationally), we examined the project proposal and arrived at the conclusion it would be interesting to make,” Tsujimoto said in an interview with Nikkei Trendy Net.

Mega Man Online, which is based in the Mega Man X universe, will make its debut in South Korea first. Tsujimoto expressed interest in releasing Mega Man Online in Taiwan and China too, other countries where PC based MMOs are popular. Since Mega Man has a fanbase in Japan, Tsujimoto believes the game will be accepted in Japan too.

He did not comment on a possible US release. Neowiz has a subsidiary in North America, so there is an outlet for the game if Capcom and Neowiz ever decide to release here.

meh

Just give me a 16-bit Mega Man X9, and I'll be a happy camper.

I find it hilarious that ppl keep asking for this. When in reality you shouldnt, it was cool at first but letting CAPCOM continously slide in dilivering a New Megaman for current technology especially when SONIC and MARIO have long since done it is unexceptable.

Well, to be honest, I didn't like the recent Mega Man games at all. Mega Man 9 & 10 were like gifts from the heavens for me.

Thats fine I agree with you. Im just saying we shouldnt give CAPCOM the idea that they can continiously shaft MEGA MAN out of any big projects. I dont want that instilled in there minds

this!

Yea... i think i'll just take the Mega Man Zero Collection and be happy for the time being.

How technical is your game?

Megaman is a side scroller. Period. Could be a new Megaman or a New megaman X.

Even if he has to face Spoon-man or Tropic Dodo, it's where he belongs!
