Well, they have their conference coming up in about 6 hours, so we should get some decent info then....

But there is a fundamental problem with the Star Wars duelling game, in the clip I saw, they are tring to push each other back, and they can't move forward, because the other one is opposing them. In the real world, there is nothing to stop me moving forward, and that is the fundamental problem with all this, there is only visual feedback

Wow the contempt.  I went into last night believing that the event was entertainment to launch Kinect and apparently shocker that is what it is. If you didnt think Cirque Du Solei was going to choreograph the whole thing you are pretty clueless.  Now that Kinect is launched MS can start doing more of the open demos and actual press trying the thing in different situations. The Star Wars video clip that leaked is exactly why MS is editing the event for public viewing tomorrow. 

As for software this is the type of stuff I expect for launch. Remember initially the idea is to take out your competitors advantage first.  They seemed to have attacked the Wii right where they need to.  Showing active sports games, dance games, fitness, etc.    Moms want thier kids sweating and press have said that Kinect will give you a workout.

Ouch.  

Yeah seeing that make you realize what all the bitching is about.    

I expect most gaming sights (which are already anti-waggle anything) to dislike casual waggle titles but watching that you can see for sure that this wasn't even 'live'  the actor is following his on-screen character's actions in Star Wars, not the other way around.

Casual crap is one thing, casual crap that MS doesn't even have faith to work right live is quite another.   At least the Wii Music debacle was genuine.

It'll be very interesting to see reactions once the media actually gets to play test it.

$189 of course isn't going to help anything either.

From what I've seen in a nutshell:

Product blows, Games blow, will most likely still sell well.

No Microsoft did it to remove speculation about high input lag. Now we can see clearly from the movie that Kinect has first ever negative input lag of -500ms predicting your movements before you do them.

That's some truly amazing engineering.

All I know is that $189.99 is far from accessible.  Especially for new consumers buying a new Xbox with this.

I'm willing to bet that it won't, and price is only one part of it.
