Forums - Microsoft - USA Today reveals Natal Name (Kinect) and Launch Titles

Ugh Kinect is kind of a stupid name imo....kinectamals and kinect adventures fail so horribly bad too.

The Star Wars game could be promising,  Joyride and the Dance game could be ok.

And I hope the rumored price for this isn't true.

BTW this does NOT mean the 360 is gonna fail, anyone who says stuff like this needs to take the fanboy goggles off.

This isn't a bad commentary, actually - frames reactions somewhat poorly, though. Some of the most vicious reactions I've seen are from the Microsoft faithful.

Still, where this hypocrisy exists (Sony and Nintendo fans going NYEH, etc.) it's basically like this

Is it hypocrisy? I just think Kinectimals sounds far worse than either... hell, like Seece mentioned, Natanimals / Natalamals or something wouldn't have been bad. Kinect by itself is alright, but Kinectimals?

From what's being shown, I'm feeling a bit less confident in this product's success, though it's not like it'll hurt the 360 if it fails.

Also, the pic of the girl digging the 360 grave is pretty hilarious, I must admit

Seems like having a introductory game that is close to a Wii Sports clone is the standard as both MS and Sony have one.  Not to mention lots of other developers on the Wii.  Can't say I blame them as it was key to the Wii's success.

But yea Kinect is well a simple name kinda like Move.  Don't really have a problem with it as it is fitting.  Would have liked to see MS be a little more bold with the naming of it to really capture attention but still good.

As for the rest of the games other than the Wii Sports clone, I'll be waiting to see footage.  Especially with that Star Wars game I keep hearing about.  Sounds interesting.

Apart from Star Wars title I'm not impressed.  Pretend to hold a steering wheel vs an actual wheel with Mario Kart?  No thanks.

I'm really quite dissapointed.  With the level of hype from MS around this, the talk of redefining gameing, etc. I really thought they'd have more at launch here, and certainly have something that sounded like it really needed Kinect to work best.  But nothing here sounds original - I can't believe they'd have come up with any of this if Nintendo hadn't already done so.  Where's Milo and Kate?  Where's an adventure game where you're there, using your hands to explore and find clues?  Where's the original stuff?

Everything they've annouced I firmly believe would work best holding a Wiimote.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Well, there's still today's conference. Just five and a half more hours, I think? We could see a more interesting use of it there.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I'm horribly underwhelmed at this point. They have a chance to redmeed themselves in about 5 hours.

I've calmed myself back to a neutral place - and will see what today brings.
