nvm
if i remember correctly didnt SE say FF XIII is not to be considered a JRPG in the tradirional sense
That's why i love the Tales battle system so much, you actually fight when it's time to battle
You should try Paper Mario if you like RPGs but don't just want to watch stuff happen on screen, i mean the game doesn't have any flashy cutscenes (barely any cutscenes at all), it's all in the really fun battle system, there's certainly no "auto battle" in PM's battles
I love RPGs (it's tied as my fav genre with platformers) and I don't like to just watch stuff happen on screen either, that's why Tales and Paper Mario are two of my favourite game series ever :)

They said that they're we're trying to go for a more similar feeling as Modern Warfare, as in the way that the action happened and the events of the game unfolded, so structurally, it had more similarities to a FPS (can't seem to see where that structure is
).
I don't see why all the fuss regarding the classification of FFXIII as a RPG or not. I've seen RPG's with less RPG mechanics than FFXIII that are still considered to be RPG's as well.

Nope. KH structure reminds me a lot of Terranigma's structure. I'm talking specifically to games like the Castlevania series, post SOTN (they're more adventure games like Metroid than RPG, they only have a tacked on stats and level system) or, why not say it, the latest Mass Effect game (which had far more structural similarities to a TPS with limited RPG mechanics borrowed from the same KOTOR background).
Don't get me wrong, I love all those games I mentioned. I just find the whole situation kinda funny. I mean, people just shift definitions to fit their own agenda. Ah well, that's the internetz

I wasn't mentioning you with my last paragraph, sorry
It was just a retort to the entire OP. As I said on my first post, he even used a logic that can be applied to a ton of recent WRPG's as well, like ME2 or Dragon Age, regarding the datalogs.
