Dialog in JRPGs are good. and also you were not FORCED to use auto-battle. You didn't have to use it.

Persona 4 had direct control. The difference in FF13, your control over your allies is the lowest in probably any JRPG. |
The amount of control you had during Rush on Persona 4 was very limited as well. But I agree with you on your last statement.

That's a bit of a stretch, considering Rush was only when you wanted your allies to use physical attacks. And even then, you could simply cancel it if you wanted someone not to attack.

Persona 3 is the only one I think, and even then you can indirectly control your allies which doesn't really make it Auto-Battle. |
They have an auto-battle option in EarthBound, which is my pick for the best JRPG ever made (and the best game on the SNES). Auto-Battle is o-kay as an option.

I'm not defaming Auto-Battle, just the lack of control over your allies FF13 gives you.

Isn't that auto-battling too? You could pass almost every random battle with that command alone, if you wanted. Heck, I almost beat Yomotsu Hirasaka dungeon with only physical attacks alone. Would it be fair to rate Persona 4 lower then, just because you can spam Rush to finish most of the game?

O_o
Since when can you spam Rush to win ANY Persona battle?
I'm only 13 hours in Persona 3, and I've never won a battle thanks to rush.

FF XIII denies you any control, not just in battle. Everything abou the game has a cokehold on it which is my number1 complaint with the game.

Dude. Persona 4 was a lot of degrees easier than Persona 3. And yeah, physical attacks can win most of the random battles. I never said all of them did I?
That's like saying that all battles can we won on FFXIII using Auto-Battle alone. I would like to see someone beating an Adamantoise with Auto Battle

Well, it cancels out a bit, since Persona 4 had direct ally control, haha.
I still curse Persona 3 for being a little overwhelming even on Normal mode. I mean, shit, that boss did 185 damage when I'm only Level 19!
Again, I am not defaming Auto-Battle, just the fact that FF13 had virtually no control over allies.
