Yeah right, *rolls eyes*
JRPGs are dead, despite DQ IX on track to become the best selling Dragon Quest game and Pokemon Diamond and Pearl selling shit loads.

Action Adventure game? Can you please enumerate the things that FF13 has similar to games like the Symphony of the Night or Super Metroid? I would love to see the similarities

FFXIII was S-E's last chance to redeem itself for me and now after forcing myself to beat it I came to the conlusion that I will never play that game again and I will never buy a FF game again on it's first day release.
FFVI-FFX : replayed those games atleast 6 tiimes each.
FFXII-FFXIII : Only one playthrough each and that just barely.
If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing
(mostly)
And shepherds we shall be,
For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints
there is an "in my opinion" missing in the OP.
i don't agree at all. I haven't played THAT many games on my xbox yet (maybe 10?) , but ao far Tales of Vesperia is my favorite BY FAR. Might be the most fun i've had with a JRPG ever. I'm actually on my thrid playthrough already - something I have never done with a story driven game... besides the classic Lucas Arts Adventures from ne 90s.
My other favorites this gen in terms of total time played are Rune Factory: Frontier and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Not exactly JRPGs but not too far from it really. After finishing ToV again i'm really looking forward to Star Ocean 4 and Lost Odyssey. i don't know if i'll like them yet, but i'm optimistic.
So... speak for yourself.
Final Fantasy XIII was my first JRPG and I have had some of the most fun I've had in gaming with that game. Yes the beginning 4 hours are slow and 1 character is underdeveloped though, ultimately a great game.
Your entire OP acts as if a whole genre is based on this one game which I don't think it is, thats a very silly assumption to make. Will I say the science fiction genre is dead after seeing 1 sci-fi movie I don't like? You have only posted once since your original post which tells me this is a post and run flamebait/troll thread. I used to do those in my early days on VGChartz so I know.

Try again. You don't get any advice better than that, sorry; you haven't given any proper side in a conversation that would suggest you need more than that. You put down a lot of games, and if you can't remember something being wrong with it then there's no reason to assume there was. So try again. |
He probably was at the part with infamous flying bird that was a pain in the ass for many players;
White Knight Chronicles had a short as balls story. I have no idea how or why you think it is long.
I FINALLY got around to playing FFXIII and I thought it sucked! But JRPGs are by no means dead.

Odd. All of my friends and I loved FF XIII. What-ever we will continue to love them. ^^
Actually with the amount of crap I buy from SE. I'm probably keeping their ass in business :D
Is this how all your threads go Twesterm?
"OH NO, A SMALL PORTION OF A GAME SLIGHTLY IRKED ME! LET ME COMPLAIN ON VGCHARTZ!"
*Further tears*
It's just annoying.
