But is his writing really hurting anyone? It is his choice after all.

It's still annoying and it takes time to decipher some of his posts.

Therefore, he is wasting my time.

TIme is very valuable, and he is consuming it.

Action? Dizzyingly switching Paradigms back and forth and pressing Auto-Battle is action?

FFXIII was utter failure in my eyes; Even though it had an amazing world and background, the story was BORING AS HELL and moving at a very slow pace. The battle system was even worse, just change Paradigms back and forth and hit Auto-Battle until the millions of HP get depleted X_X

@people saying FF is dead. IMO it really is, first time you screw up (FFXII) it's a mistep; everybody gives another chance to the legendary name. Second time though, everybody becomes worried. And since SE's clear indication that FF is moving towards cinematic gameplay (if that) even more while abandoning the serie's core, many will pass on FFXV if thing don't (drastically change)

You can put a J in front of it, but it's not an RPG.

You are my forum hero :)

ANyways the Japense Cinematic Experience games are never going to die out. Nor should they. They are great alternatives to reading a book or watching a movie. Reading is just too hard these days. and Movies require you to go out. At least for the greater experience. Plus

Well I've had my 2 cents. I'm going to go back to playing my PnP RPG's :)

That's what makes Japanese games so much better than the Western games. :D

exctly, nd i hvnt been attached to chrctrs in western games like i attached to lightning or sazh. mayb nathan drake, tht is all

I am actually in the field that finds Japanese characters better than western ones, however, besides Fang and Sahz (maybe Lightning), all of the characters in 13 are a bunch of idiots who act like no human ever would.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

For me FF has been long dead. I don't like the series anymore after Final Fantasy X. Ever since Sakaguchi left, the series isn't the same anymore. The FF spirit will live on in The Last Story for me. If squeenix wants to make a game out of cinematics they should just make a movie like Spirits Within and make a new RPG IP.

Leave Final Fantasy ALONE!!!

My main issues with current gen RPGs (at least on ps3) is that they suffer from a lack of content, yet they try and pretend that they don't.

Final fantasy XIII is the most obvious example of this, as it tries to hide its lack of content by including numerous, long, and often erroneous cutscenes and by increasing the length of dungeons by adding more tunnels full of enemies.  You can't brag about a game being 60 hours long just because it has twice as many grunts you have to power through as a 30 hour game.

White Knight Chronicles is another example, as tries to hide its lack of content behind a rather long story that never seems to end (and even leaves you with a cliff hanger when all is said and done!) and a dungeon design that employs sprawling layouts, plenty of backtracking, and respawning enemies that can have incredibly high HP.  Toss in the occasional incredibly easy but incredibly long puzzle and you've got a game that lasts far longer than it should.

My other issue with JRPGs (once again, using the examples above) are the generally cliched story lines that like stating the obvious in an overly dramatic fashion.  People like to defend this, claiming it is "anime-like", but I get the feeling such people don't watch very much anime.  But that's another argument for another day.

I would recommend giving Final Fantasy XIII a bit more time, however, as I found the game quite enjoyable on the whole.  At first the auto-battle button may seem like a joke, but about an hour in you're introduced to Paradigm Shifts, and that's where the battle system starts to show its depth.  By the last third of the game you'll be Paradigm Shifting like crazy.

K, so I haven't finished it, but I'm a good chunk of the way there!  I'll hopefully finish WKC in the next two days, then I can get to work on FFXIII, then start either Eternal Sonata or Resonance of fate.

sorry to say.. your complaints will Xxtend to Eternal Sonata. I really doubt you like RoF, but i could be wrong. Good luck on FFXIII you will need it mountains of patience( I shudder to think of the grining you have to do in that game in the final chapters.) and yes beat WKC so i we can complete the online
