This all just sounds ridiculous.  Especially the name "Wii Hi-Fi."  What is this, the 1970's?  We're all excited for Hi-Fi?  A technology 30 years old?  Puh-lease.  The Wii has Dolby surround capabilities and can output in 480i (or is it p?), which is essentially better than the original definitions of Hi-Fi.  Hi-Fi, by the way, refers more to audio quality and is essentially NOT interchangable with High-Definition.  So, the Wii Hi-Fi will be a game console with substantially high quality audio, but based on 70's era definitions.  Because it's obviously not referring to High Definition. 

Also, some fairly reliable rumors on the 3DS indicate that it has an analog nub, either in addition to, or in place of, a digital directional pad.  Those designs shown, are clearly just a regular DS with the top screen made bigger to generally match the bare circuit board seen online.

It's not going to be as powerful as Xbox 360. That's ridiculous. It's probably as strong or stronger than Xbox 720 or PS4.

It was ridiculous for Wii to have a CPU clocked 4 MHz lower than the original Xbox's, too. While i'm inclined to agree with you, let's not discount anything

No 3D Camera on the DS. It's too new and thus too costly. More than likely 2 mini cameras can be worked in effect for 3d. Also of importance. The word "Capable" for a portable device does not mean near 360. I would likely put the power closer to PSP.

I never liked pre E3. Peoples logic circuits begin to fail for dreams and hype.



Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

That's exactly how 3d cameras work. Two cameras are set eye distance apart.



Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

Well keep in mind that Wii was announced in 2005 as Revolution and didn't get released for over a year before launch. Nintendo's five year life cycle ends in 2011 making it the probuble launch date for Nintendo's next console. Microsoft is over due for a console as well so expect that NextBox could be announced at this E3.

Chances are Nintendo will hint at HiFi if that is indeed the codename or actually confirm it for release in the near future. Also keep in mind Miyamoto stated that the next console would have HD support he said so back in 2006. This means the console was already deep in development.

My bet is the console will be announced briefly at the end of Nintendo's conferance. However Nintendo might hold off till next E3 as they did with 3DS as to catch consumers off gaurd. But a new home console announcement from Nintendo is more then just possible it is a 50/50 chance in my mind maybe even 60/40!
