1 million new 360's due to slim model = more software and software is another place where MS makes a lot of their money.

Also, more 360's sold due to slim = more Xbox Live subscriptions.

Not really. 1 million more xboxes sold, 2/3 of which already own a 360 but want a slimmer model. If people want an xbox to buy games or go on xbl, why do they need a slim model to persuade the buyer to do this?

And where do you think the older models go when people buy a new slim?  To new owners via the used console market.  So once again, more 360's sold via slim = more software and xbl subscriptions.

360 slim is nice and saves MS money, but honestly do people really choose to replace a perfectly good unit because a slimmer version is on the market.  I have the money and never would or would I replace a perfectly good unit because a new color is on the market.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Source says yes.

So what do you think that it could, should, would, or will be?

Some have mentioned the revised xbox (unlikely imo) with included wifi! You know you would buy a new xbox if it had wifi included!

Seems like E3 is taking forever to get here.

Damn right! I hate having to run a bloody great 18 inch cable to connect to live.

why do people want slims. do people REALLY not have space for the real thing?

and i think Natal is thier big thing, if Hulu comes then its great too, but its gonna be Natal, but maybe Natal support for some big game ( halo reach T-bag mode) that is what will bring in the money

and 360 makes money on hardware accessorries, but not the console itself ( well maybe now but didnt for about a year)

hahaha that made me laugh so hard! if i ran a cable it would be either 15 feet or 50 (depending on if i went through some walls or not)

  Kinect! who needs video games!

I'm suprised nobody hear thinks Microsoft may announce their next platform. Rumours are already flying that Nintendo might so the fact that no Microsoft fans suspect that Microsoft will is sorta suprising. The four year life cycle is over and now the five year cycle of Sony and Nintendo are due to wrap up next year. Microsoft's marketshare is beginning to slip faster and faster.

You'd think the next generation would be the answer to all Microsoft's problems. A clean slate a way of killing off the PS3 before it capitalizes on its growing momentum. Microsoft could launch the new platform fall 2011 just like Nintendo is expected to do.

Come on doesn't anyway think Microsoft will at least hint at the NextBox? Seriously its been almost a year since Microsoft placed that ad on Gamasutra looking for developers to work on the next X-Box. If dev kits have been around that long the nextbox can't be too far off!

@Joelcool7, No, because they have said theyre not going to. But not only that, they have a pretty good grasp on the US market right now, and they probably don't want to rock the boat just yet, irrespective of the fact that Sony are making in roads.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I hope they reveal the Xbox 3 at E3 but I don't think they will.

And there's no dev kits out there for the nextbox lol. Where did you get that from?

new xbox at most will be hinted at. but i i expect it to come 2012. which is 3 years to long
