Forums - Sony - ITV player coming to PS3

ITV are understood to be in discussions with Sony about launching ITV Player on the PS3.

According to the Telegraph the service would be streamed and advertising supported. The newspaper suggests that they are hoping to launch the service beginning of September.

Since Nintendo’s Wii platform will not allow advertising and Microsoft’s Xbox does not allow free content via Xbox Live, it seems that PS3 may be the only console to receive the service for now.

I thought that, i was like yes we get to watch.......... any minute now it will come to me......aha....nope thats on BBC

ITV is for more maturer audiance, with mostly has drama's and documentrys, and then there is xfactor and Britains got tallent..... but there not my thing either,But people obviously do watch it so its good news for some people. The more choice the better though right?

Yes! Epic win! Now I can keep up with Dickinson's Real Deal and Holiday Showdown on my PS3.

Megaton.

That's right, as soon as 4 On Demand makes it on there as well, which I can see happening soon we are golden. On a side note you can play blinkbox.co.uk on there quite well using the net browser, they have programmed a decent PS3 compatable site that works well, it has many free C4 and  BBC shows on there as well as many rental films.

There is one show, just one I'd happily watch on repeat if I missed it. Harry Hill's TV Burp. But that's not on at the moment and own't be until like November I think.

I think it includes gossip girl too, so yeah don't tell her ha ha

4OD would be brilliant, the iPlayer and 4OD are all you need for the best of British TV on demand. Although 4OD is on youtube, so maybe we can already get it on the PS3 through that... depending on whether or not the browser behaves. I'll have to try that out now.
