i Knew England was gonna flop out tjhis year with all the rubbish and mediocre efforts they made, it takes a team like Germany to show them just how bad they have got, shame about lampard's goal 1 yard over the line, he was on fire today and nearlly scored another in the second half, he's my man of the match.

Apart from that I'm really ashamed of the defense today, and all the commentator's thin capello will leave now...

Where is Sven when you need him??

England played very well on the offense (I still think that Capello didn't maximize Rooney's position for more breakthrough passes), but you're right, their defense were pretty bad.

Hopefully you'll have a better performance at Euro 2012

i think in a sense it's good, because now they know they won't win by just showing up, England really have become complacent over the past couple of years through overhyping the team, but to be honest we have not been any good since we played against brazil, we overcame so many hurdles that year, I was actually proud to be English lol.

They need go back to looking for better players except this time we need defence and not offense:P:P

Portugal was the same for WC 2006 and Euro 2008. Too much complacency due to the super-stardom that some players thought they had.

Hopefully, we'll continue to see a turn around from that mentality in the game against Spain, we'll need a very solid defense if we want to win against them.

As for England, I really do think that they need to find better defenses, but also, find a coach that fits the style of the Premier League more than just trying to create an unique style that would take more time for players to assimilate.
It was a shame seeing Rooney being reduced to playing behind the strikers.

To be honest I think what we need to do right now, sorry not being racist is to limit the amount of foreign players allowed in english football that way more english young player have a chance, maybe this way we actually may have a good team again in 5-10 years time.

Anyway when do portugal play next, it looks they are my main team noW

I think that would be a rather good thing to do, not only for the English team, but every other team. It's getting to the point that some national sides play with more foreign players than national players, just because it's easier to nationalize players than to scout for talent.

We play on tuesday at 19:30 PM

*phew* Argentina looks frightening - I guess we (Germany) won't beat them, but that's no problem, quarterfinals is a good success for our young team and in 2/4 years we hopefully have sth. that can be called a defense, for right now all we can hope for is to shoot more than we concede, hehe

Fifa just announced to put 'use of electronical devices' on their agenda...

Now if all 'big' coaches and players put their heads together and make sure this happens fast maybe the game will become more 'honest'.

Sad thing though: if you need something from the Fifa, like wanting to organise a WC you had better be on their side. So count Cruyff and others out sadly enough... (is what i expect even though Cruyff does support the use of cameras...)

Finally FIFA gets off their high horse and actually try to do something to better the game.

What is really sad it that they are only considering it because it happened to high-profile team. If the England - Germany situation had happened to a team like Honduras, FIFA wouldn't give a crap.

That is something true in everything. Not just football. Big countries like to pick on the little guy.

The game would have been way more exciting if it was 2-2 at half time.
