Enjoy your new PS3! You'll like it I'm sure.

I'm not sure what kind of games you're into, but Folklore is a neat little game if you're into very story-driven atmospheric RPGs. It's one of those games that's not brilliant, but if you're into that kind of thing, you can't really find anything else like it on the market.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

Lair is terrible. I'd keep both systems for the exclusives of each.

These are the PS3 games you need to check out:

Resistance
Motorstorm (underappreciated)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma (If you like a challenge)
F1 Championship Racing (If you like Formula 1)
Warhawk
Heavenly Sword (good but short, maybe rent first)
Ratchet & Clank: ToD (Amazing looking and very fun)
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Eye of Judgment (If you like card games)
Super Stardust HD (Shooter like Geometry Wars, but better)
Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection (Downloadable)
Calling All Cars (If you have other ppl to play with you)

Coming Pretty Soon:
Unreal Tournament III (Dec)
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (Early next year)

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

I think you're right on, ckmlb. Every time I pop Motorstorm in, I can't get rid of the smile on my face.

I have the exact opposite experience with F1.... but in a good way. I love F1 and sim racers, and this game can be relentlessly difficult, but incredibly satisfying.

I haven't really gotten into Super Stardust, but I never really found Geometry Wars to be very good either. On the other hand, I think Everyday Shooter is absolutely brilliant. It's more of a casual shooter that's incredibly unique. As the title of the game suggests, it's a shooter for playing everyday. And that's exactly what I do.

Finally, I wish more people played Calling all Cars online! The game is just a riot to play. Why didn't this game take off?

Not saying the other systems are flawed or anything, but I think the PS3 has some great variety and am really loving it

Holy Jebus, if you find getting a PS3 is like selling your soul then I wonder what you would already do for a dollar. Raise your standards a bit.

Anyhow, I am probably the only person in the world who didn't have issues with the controls of Lair. Just consider controlling the game like using a sniper rifle in a FPS. Be precise and don't franticly move your controller around and you will hit your target. Using spray and pray doesn't work with a sniper rifle and it doesn't work in Lair as well.

GT5 proloque is going to be the coolest ever and I am currently enjoying Warhawk which is a must have if you like playing online.

One more question.. is Lair all that bad ?

Guilty Pleasure:
I liked Red Steel

LOL I have not played Lair, but most of the reviews said that the controls were terrible.. which was the problem in Red Steel. So you'll probably like Lair bunches.

I didn't mean to be mean when saying that its a joke really.

I would say if you can have all three, then do. This way you will have every exclusive game at your control.

As a complete PS3 fanboy Ill say this. If you have a 360 you might as well wait for the PS3. I love my PS3, and play it more than my Xbox, but PS3 price may very well drop next year, and the 360 does have most of the best games the PS3 has plus Mass Effect and Bioshock. I have lost interest in Halo myself, and being a Socom vet I find Call of Duty 4 better anyways.

However, all the best games this generation seem to be shooters. Shooters have the easiest formula in the world to make, and you bet the 360 is going to keep taping into that. If your not a fan of that same formula, I suggest getting a Wii instead, and then getting a PS3 later on when MGS4, LBP,DMC, FF come out. I think by early mid-year the PS3 will drop in price to try and cut down the 360 gap before Christmas time.

This is true. Everyday shooter is excellent whereas SSHD is good, but not unique.

If he finds it selling his soul, I'd hate to see how he feels about supporting the worst company to ever open it's doors on this Earth.  Microsoft.
