it looks different from the charts I get for "Hardware by date"

I understand that the x-axis is shifted, but shouldn't the sales data be identical? One example, the "from launch" chart seems to be missing the PS3 Euro launch spike, but the "by date" has it.
Maybe I'm missing something obvious here. If so, be gentle...
