Forums - Microsoft - A price cut is the only thing that can save the 360 from 3rd place

you guys forgot about halo. remember the massive xbox 360 sales for the debut month of halo 3?

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

Your very good at pulling imaginary figures out of your asshole.

What makes you think Move will explode and be a massive success? Because it's very much the Wii but HD?

Natal won't cater to any audience without marketing and software to drive it. We'll have a better idea in 2 weeks when we actually know what software will utilize Natal.

move and natal have alot to prove to the market as a hole. i just don't see either doing well, but there is that unnone factor of not being able to see the future. if i had to be honest and look past the fact that motion controles are a novelty at best. i'd haft to say i don't see either doing more then 2m. but seeing things as i see them. i'd say noless than 50k and no more than 500,000 units being sold between the two. i don't think either has an edge over the other.

I dont think that move will be a big deal either.  What will be a big deal is the PSN premium services bringing a lot of $$$ to Sony so Sony will be able to use this for further price cuts, advertising, or exclusives.  Either way it's a powerup for Sony.

Also, Sony using google's OS for its multitude of devices making Sony's stuff better, while taking $$$ away from MS.

My point wasn't about whether the arcade unit helps or not, but merely that the arcade unit is the 'cheapo deal', not the $300 elite. I was correcting your post.

Also you talk about Sony's plans and enhancements for 2010, but then fail to recognize anything beyond Natal for MS. Granted, Natal is pretty much the only thing that is confirmed, but there's general consensus of an xbox 360 slim and price cut coming. Don't count MS out yet, they likely have big plans this year as well.

And there's no confirmation on Natal being priced at $149.

People are going to go buy PS3s just because they're adding premium content that you have to pay to access? Am I missing something here?

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

srry. im going to underestmate the efect of halo boosting 360 sells. if you love halo and havn't bought a 360 buy now you won't get it. on that note i'd haft to say even though reach isn't a sequal it may stand a chance of pushing 360 sells, but i don't see it.

There is also a general consensus for a PS3 price cut sometime this year.

Yes, it's more about Sony getting more $$$$ which makes it a stronger company, and will be able to do more things with it.
