i think that some of the characters stories in FF13 are really well fleshed out (Shaz, Hope, Fang, Vaneille). its just they should've done a lot more with the 6 hours of cutscenes imo.

The actual person called Locke is dead, he becomes a corpse. He does not become the smoke monster. The smoke monster existed before him, and merely takes his form. It's a matter of semantics =P
