Forums - Gaming - FF XIII is a lot more better than I anticipated

We're all largely being annoying finding out ways to get rid of characters.

The fact Vanille could be taken out very, very easily just shows how non-vital she is.

Actually, it's the other way around. The entire story affects the entire plot. Mainly, if Vanille had the guts 500 years ago to become Ragnarok with Fang, Cocoon would have been destroyed.

Then there wouldn't even be any plot.

It doesn't work that way.

Since Cocoon *WASN'T* destroyed, that side-plot doesn't affect the story.

The problem is that particular part of the story isn't a side plot.

It's a major part of Cocoon's lore.

And that Lore shapes everything that happens.

Now, if Fang had done it alone and there was no Vanille, then that the same scenario would be true as well. The same thing would be true if Vanille had done that alone.

Both Vanille&Fang are essential to the story, that's what I'm saying all this time.

Hypothetically it would have which makes Vanille vital.

If you can remove the side-plot and the story is the same, then that plot wasn't necessary.

SPOILERS AGAIN

She could be BUT she would have to be replaced

Ragnarok HAS to be a combination of 2 people otherwise the plot changes

You can't remove that side story because its vital to the games world & their fear of pulse, l'cie, all things foreign & its also the reason humans are extinct on Pulse.

Let's see what happens if we rid of the events before Cocoon five hundred years ago.

There wouldn't be a spectacular fireworks show in Nautilus about that war.

The problem is that the same thing can be done for every character in any video game.

As long as people come up with ways to actually destroy the entire story of a game to fit their own agendas/beliefs of what the game is/should have been, then it can be done.

Doesn't make it right to do so, though.

As for Vanille, she could easily been taken out of the game, as could Fang too. Frankly, they have more importance to the entire game than most characters have in other FF's or RPGs.

There would be people living on pulse

People wouldn't be hating pulse on cocoon

Psi-Com wouldn't exist

Lightning would be unemployed

Side missions wouldn't exist on pulse

your changing the entire game dtewi

No, those fears were instilled by the fal'Cie.
