I have the same problem with the above 2 themes that you seemed to have with the Barthandelus theme, they both lacked melody. Meh none of you even put the main LO battle theme in your lists that I found on youtube which is rather spectacular actually, especially when that tune begins around the 1 minute mark.

You can't have that problem with Howl of the Departed! Whaaaaat

It has weird things in it that are putting me off! Like a choir screaming & a guitar in the back ground (first minute)

Then it gets pretty epic....for 30 seconds. Then the people start screaming....cool

but after a while there's a weird clicking noise in the background! 

Still no good melody......at 2:51 we get a good melody then at 3 minutes its like a tribe singing.

Too many things in one song!!!!!

Why didn't you mention the games main battle theme? Its so epic!

I've always really liked the map theme (Neverending Journey) from Lost Odyssey. It's just so...peaceful at the beginning, then it slowly picks up and slows back down.

Lost Odyssey is the best game you have listed it's the best jrpg this generation in my opinion the dreams, music, and story work together to pull on the heart strings of the player.  Also if you don't already own it I recommend that you at least rent Infinite Undiscovery because I thought it was better than star ocean.  Both are good but infinite undiscovery has the edge over star ocean for me because I liked the story more.  I also like the gameplay parts where you can have all of your playable characters 15 on one field fighting and everyone is pulling off their signature moves it's amazing to watch as well as take part in.

I liked Lost Odyssey, but I actually preferred Blue Dragon.  However, I voted for LO because more people seem to like it versus mirroring my tastes.  Both are good.  haven't played Star Ocean, though I will pick it up on sale one of these days if there's ever again a lull in new games long enough for me to spend time on it.  (I'm not holding my breath at this point.)



Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?
