Forums - Sony - Sony: PS Move REACTION Time Is 22 Milliseconds - (Pretty Impressive!!)

I'll state this again: Show some kickass games if you want to make this work. Specs haven't sold systems before (even "Blast Processing" would have meant nothing without such great games as Sonic and all the space shooters). They aren't going to sell them now.

Basically SOCOM looks like it will be a good game (haven't played it, but from all accounts, it's a good series), but there had better be more, or how good the motion sensing is won't matter.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Numbers are meaningless until they are seen in action.

What the software is and how it handles the input will be the real determining factors.

This has always been the case for systems and will continue to be so.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

True but the specs give us an idea of the potential & it seems SONY 1st Party studios are very capable of taking advantage of the machines SONY puts out. But its cool to know things like these, certainly not meaningless,

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

That sounds really good but I'm still not quite sold on motion controls. I'll see what the price is. If its the same as a normal controller I might buy one.

this are just numbers from PR but once it came out we will see if delivers...

I'm not into MC yet... but since i already have a PS3 this will be cheaper than buy a wii... i will consider this when its out, but this is slowly growing in me ...

lol...I love how you had to put "pretty impressive" in the title. Just so there is no confusion if move is impressive or not.

Ugh disregard these posts.. Firefox doesn't seem to agree with this new site layout..

Sony: PS Move Reaction Time Is 22 Milliseconds

Tuesday, 1 Jun 2010 - 15:32PM

In a community-based interview over on the official PlayStation website, Mark Green of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has said the reaction time for the PlayStation Move is just 22 milliseconds.

Reaction times have been spoken about a lot in recent times, and not just for Move, but Microsoft's Project Natal as well.

"So I can tell you that it is accurate to the nearest millimetre, precise in motion tracking and likewise in seeing where the controllers are in 3D space." said Green. "Its reaction time, from movement to delivering to the screen, is just 22 milliseconds and on screen it is pixel precise".

He added: "To put that in perspective the system is five times faster than that of a typical human’s reflexes!"

PlayStation Move is set to launch later this year, with a price still to be announced - though it has been confirmed the device will be less than $100. More will be shown at the E3 conference in just two weeks time.

This is pretty impressive. Does anyone know what the reaction time for the Wii Motion Plus is?

I thought the Move was not like the Wii and should not be compared? At least that's what some Sony fans tell me.
