What difficulty do you play on usually?

OT:

Depends on what game it is, and whether or not I'm new to the franchise or genre.

When I played MGS 2 (My first MGS) I played on normal, but when I played MGS 3 I chose hard instead.

I chose Normal in most cases though. I never play on Easy mode unless it's Touhou and I'm tired...
