Gotta be more patient with it, if you can make it pass Disc 1 I guarantee you'll be hooked.

So none of you got hooked when:

You go through the amazing trying to assassinate Edea sequence? That was AWESOME especiall the music during the parade, her speech, the way you cen draw carbuncle from the two lizards when you go to save rinoa, and of course the annoying "oh I'm too nervous to shoot her" bit almost ruined it all but still!

The whole train sequence where you kidnap the wrong dude

Whenever you get Laguna flashbacks in disc 1 with the fantastic music & the Deling City

Oh i was hooked at the very beginning, I love FF8.  I was just implying that Disc 1 had so many amazing events that by the end of Disc 1, you just gotta be hooked by then and if not then something is really wrong with the player lol.

I've been trying to convince dtewi to continue it, I told him an amazing plot twist is coming up

But I think he might hate the orphanage plot twist like many others did, I actually thought it was pretty cool....don't see what the big hate around it is, it was explained why they forgot about th orphanage.     , he might like the whole "Ellone" can manipulate time idea though, not sure!

I got past Edea. I stopped playing it when they depart for the two Gardens.

It was boring. Squall had 3,000 HP. In every other game, my characters reached that near endgame. It shouldn't be that early.

I just hate the game. The story is plagued by bad characters and ridiculous concepts and it has bad gameplay.

Keep convincing dtewi, FF8 is definitely an RPG that shouldnt be missed (same goes to you too tehsage).

I actually liked the whole orphan concept and how the characters tie in with eachother.  As well i liked the adventure going into space and finding the Ragnarok,  it was just different and I dont recall other FF that had some space adventure.

Yeah the space thing was cool.

Well in there is one other FF that involves some form of space adventure...as in you leave your own planet (its a pre FF7 one)

Yes I enjoyed all of that too, like I said the plot kept me gripped, because so many things happened, each event was fun (almost ) & by the end of each event you are drawn in by your next objective almost straight away. I was shocked I enjoyed it so much.

I mean I put down White Snore Chronicles to play it instead back in february when we got it on our PS store lol!
