That is true, he does say some cold shit though.
"I'm At The W, But I Can't Meet You In The Lobby,
Girl I Gotta Watch My Back, Cuz I'm Not Just Anybody,"

1. They are few "rappers" nowadays, its mostly Hip Pop singers.
2. The only reason why Pac and Biggie are famous are because they're dead.
3. Hip hop is dead
With rappers like Drake and J.Cole around, Hip-Hop ain't dead. Drake is making hits out of songs like Successful, Over and Miss Me. I can't even remember the last time there has been a debut rapper (or any rapper for the matter other then Jay-Z and Eminem) that had successful singles off of lyrically driven songs.

I dont even know who J.cole is, Drake is only succesfull because
1. Lil wayne
2. He did best i ever had, succesful
3. The instrumentals
And him being lyrical...no..just no... Lady Gaga makes as much sense as Drake does..
I didnt even know Drake was a rapper until i saw his ass on BET, then i was like "Isnt that the dude from degrassi?".
Hip hop is dead, Hip pop is alive.

1.) No, no and no. If Lil Wayne was one of the reasons why Drake is so popular, then Currency should have blown up when he first came out. But guess what, he didn't. In fact, everybody from Young Money should became heavy hitters in the game if Weezy's influence is as big as you make it out to be. Wayne has nothing to do with.
2.) While "Best I Ever Had" and "Successful" did play a part in why Drake has pretty much become the most hyped rapper in the rap game at the moment, people really started feeling Drake because of his mixtapes "Comeback Season" and "So Far Gone". Everyone thought he was a crazy good rapper (People are already saying that Drake is their favorite rapper and are comparing him to the likes of Jay-Z and Nas). Having a hit single alone doesn't give a rap artist THIS much hype (since there have already been new rappers that have came out in the past with even more successful songs then Drake's and didn't even get a drop of the amount of hype Drake is getting).
3.) Hot beats doesn't make people say that Drake is the best rapper alive.
4.) That is your opinion. For me and MANY other people, Drake is VERY good rapper that spits hot lyrics. Also, by "lyrically driven songs" I didn't mean that Drake has good lyrics (which I do think he does). I meant that he is making hit records off songs that are mostly lyrics and are not driven by their hooks. Not this "Hip-Pop" you are talking about. Are you saying that songs like "Successful" and "Over", raps songs that are actually meaning and are not just talking about women and how much cars he has are hip-pop? Also, Drake makes perfect sense in his raps. You just don't get it.
