Platformer - Banjo Kazooie, Kameo, Viva Pinata

So I voted for Action / Adventure, because even though there are some exclusive games that are awesome, there is nothing on the Xbox 360 like a Shenmue or any other truely epic game. And I do love nice storys in videogames and platformer are not that great for telling deep storys.

I think Rare will come up with some nice Platformers though.

I'd have to say neither Banjo Nuts and Bolts nor VivaPinata were true platformers. Nuts and Bolts tried to mix up the genre with the gameplay revolving around vehicles and that totally ruined the experiance as a platformer. Also VivaPinata was more like Animal Crossing then a platformer. I've played Kameo and that indeed was a platformer, but it really didn't compete with the likes of Mario.

I really hope Rare brings us a new true Banjo or maybe a new Conker or maybe a fresh platformer IP.

I beg to differ on all of them.  None of the aforementioned games are traditional platformers.  Even Kameo was more action/adventure than platformer (don't just go by the cutesy look, but the gameplay).  But, for record, I enjoyed all 3 games on different levels, especially Nuts and Bolts.

Platformers are not only hard to make WELL (you DO have Mario that it will always be compared to) but also gamers with low self esteems or a confused idea of what a mature gamer plays seem to avoid them like the plague on Xbox consoles (even go back last gen and see decent-to-good platformers that got ignored).  But hopefully with more types of gamers buying the console, the Xbox market would expand enough to make such a game viable.

Platformer?!?!?  Wow...I thought most would think action/adventure game...personally, I picked RPG, but platformer...wow.

I voted Action/Adventure, but would also accept WRPG.  I'm not that big into platforming and can't ever see myself shelling out $60 for one.  If I ever do get that itch that's what XBLA is for...
