Its not a copy because if anyone actually followed how the Eyetoy did they would be convinced to try something completely different. Therefore Wave exists inspite of and not because of the Eyetoy controller. The inspiration is how not to introduce a motion controller so I don't see how copying fits into any of this.

I don't really care for Natal used on the 360... BUT!!! For a media center PC this thing will be amazing. I don't find it to be a copy, but an advancement forward like everything else. More competition in the motion controller market is what we need anyways.

Sorry OP thread is utter fail. There is a missed grasp that MS is a PC primary company. Webcams and the entire technology has been out longer than the Eyetoy. As there are also many developers who have been working on the webcam interaction for years. The break down and the fallacy that is in play. Is that there is an assumption that MS is working from the console side of development.

Secondly J.Lee has been working on some of the advance tracking ability using the Wiiremote as it's camera. J.Lee is now apparently working with the Natal project of MS. This would place Natal in a parallel development rather than inspiration development.

Now i'm willing to offer that Sony has indeed worked on a Wand technology before the Wii is released. Many R&D groups make the same products with no copying what so ever. So the Sony Wand tech is not a copy. This however doesn't mean that Sony didn't copy. The shape of the Move, the sub piece, the button layout are indications that the Move design is Wiiremote inspired. Finally the Move only exists because of the success of the Wiiremote. Which means that Sony didn't think that the Eye Wand tech was worth pursuing. Not until Nintendo proved it as a good market. This means that while the core tracking tech is indeed not copied. The entire business plan, inspiration of model.... are all Sony copying.

The Dreamvison was not even successful (another excellent excuse that certain fans use for the wii vs ps move argument) for it to even matter.

If you know your facts sony has had the software to track parts of the body for quite a while now (if you look into their R&D), so yes natal is a copy of everything that eyetoy has evolved to become (which is ps eye), I will be the one laughing when the xmote is released, then i can add another two picture comparisons to my sig...
