Red Dead Redemption machinima film airing on Fox this Saturday

This Saturday at midnight (ET), Fox will air a 30-minute short film made from Red Dead Redemption. That's right -- this film was created using in-game assets. And it's not just any old basement machinima -- it's been directed by John Hillcoat (The Road) and, according to Rockstar's description, "reimagines" protagonist John Marston's, uh, redemption, as he pursues that prickly Bill Williamson.

Sounds interesting enough -- just so long as it doesn't interrupt
MADtv. That's still on, right?

I made a post about this 2 days ago and I guess no one cares lol.

Just watched it and It was cool. Like a 30min commercial, but still cool. I was thinking it would be in 2-3 parts cause they didn't show most of the game. But then I guess that would be majoy spoilers lol.

I did enjoy it.

Ya I posted this 3 days ago and I was the only one that replied...

I like the way they did it, they added a couple scenes from diffrent missions at the end to make for a better story and didn't give anything away until the game really takes off, so no spoilers..

was funny to hear some little voice over editing, like when the sherif asks if Jon will help with a problem, he just utters 'uh-hu'... lol

Wow. Before I posted I looked hard for another post and must have missed yours lol. Ah well..

Thats "uh-hu" line was funny as i noticed that as well. Overall pretty good. Eventhough it was a glorified commercial I would like to see more things like this.

@Slimebeast:

Yea it was on "TV". It was on the Fox network in the US.

Wow the "show" made no sense to me. It seemed really choppy and jumped from one situation to the next. The graphics look fantastic, though I thought I saw a few dropped frames here and there. Also there were lots of instances of the Uncanny Valley where the characters struck me as being very creepy puppets/zombies.

That said, it'd be awesome if there were more animated shows on TV using machinima. Watching it made me think of how far 3D has come since ReBoot, especially since this was all in the game engine and ReBoot was all rendered.

Currently playing: Gran Turismo 5
Just finished:
