Forums - Sales - Others up

Do you mean it will struggle to reach 1 million just in Europe, or worldwide?

Okay start for RDR - combined with US very good for the genre. Pretty close but I thought 360 version would sell a bit more - now it's down to legs and reputation.  Wonder how much the shortages affected things?  Should be interesting to track next few weeks sales.

MNR okay start, too. Not sure what some were expecting but it's a new Kart IP - initial sales always looked to be small. If it gets a good reputation then legs will see it okay over time, if not then it may end up selling weaker than Sony would want - it was never going to be front loaded though, that's for sure.

I'd be worried if I was those other racing titles, though.

Most everything else chugging along during the slow summer months.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Modnation was out only 1 day or 2 this week this game will continue to sell. Dont look for it to leave the top 50 in the next 3-6 months

now a comparison with LBP? LBP was the game of the year. stellar reviews across the board. super hyped in every game expo there was.

modnation is.. 82 on meta, not hyped by any means, and it doesn't have mario on the cover. whatever fellas, you can damage control all you want, but the fact is modnation is a flop. mark my words. it won't cross a million, unless it's bundled with every PS3 in the world.

and i ask you guys again, 50k is not a flop? since when? seriously.

Worldwide?

See some EU openings compared to their worldwide sales:

MotorStorm: Pacific Rift (PS3): 37k opening, .92m worldwide

GRID (PS3): 47k opening, .89m worldwide

Burnout Paradise (X360): 64k opening, 1.25m worldwide

Midnight Club: Los Angeles (X360): 36k opening, 1.41m worldwide
Midnight Club: Los Angeles (PS3): 43k opening, 1.25m worldwide

NfS: ProStreet (Wii): 20k opening, .93mil worldwide

Racing games aren't the most frontloaded games around, especially so for the Others region. There's honestly no way to tell right now how its sales will play out - if it's well received (the gamers, forget metacritic), then it'll continue selling for a while. If not, well...

Wow - lot's of experts on how racing games sell! I must remember never to cross you lot with regards to that genre.

Holy crap, quit trolling.

How is an average of over 80 on Metacritic now considered mediocre? The fact that MNR wasn't hyped that much means it has a much better opportunity to sell through consistent sales and word of mouth than many other games (which I expect it to). It's 50k in one territory. Assuming it has a debut of about 70k in America (based on preorders), that's a worldwide launch of over 100k. Not too bad for a title that was never really that hyped in the first place. Plus, there's been a dozen commercials for it. It can only grow.

Either way, stop trolling so badly and just go away. The debut was just fine. Just because it sold a modest amount in the first week in one territory doesn't mean it's automatically a flop (if that was true, many hit games this generation would be flops).

Maybe you were just being incredibly sarcastic and unfunny, which amazingly, I would prefer.
