It's very sad indeed, things like Samurai champloo and Hellsing ultimate never get popular but crap like naruto or almost all shonen jump scrap is always loved and praised by all japanese and weeaboo.

Yep and the big 3 anime are dumbed down like hell..so much so that I have given up on watching em....

and yea samurai champloo and Hellsing are awesome...there are also very underrated stories as well..like "Vinlad Saga" or "Gamaran" or "Onikiri Jyuzo" :( They NEED anime treatment bad

You looks like someone who knows alot about manga/anime. Maybe you can suggestme some good ones :D I hate emo kids and sexualized weak schoolgirls so it's kinda hard for me to find a anime I like. If you have bad anime (really bad ones), tell me, I'm making a list of the WORST EVER. Quazer of Stigmata, Queen's Blade, Rosario Vampire, Evangelion, Saber Marionettes J, Mouse, Kanokon, and much more!

For anime it depends on the genre of your preference..I personally like anime like straitjacket, Hellsing, FMA, Full Metal Panic (does have overly sexualized girls but the action and comedy aspects are good to me), Sword of the stranger, Samurai Champloo, Baccano (takes patience for this one)

Baccano does start out horribly slow. My roommate showed me some of the better snippets of it from later on, but i watched the first episode and found it intolerable at the outset.

 

But i'm going to have to look for some of these, as i've spent my summer so far watching Queen's Blade and Ah My Goddess, aside from all of the big three. Qwazer and Rosario seem to be worth a look.

But i'll also recommend Full Metal Panic, both the regular series and Fumoffu are excellent.

I've seen most of the OVAs of Hellsing, and it relates to those anime like MadWorld relates to Bayonetta, replacing mindless sex with mindless violence. A great series in its own right, but nothing more noble than the other.

Yea, it's more 'noble' than the others IMO. It's not that cliché (exept for Seras during the begining, she's weak. But at the end, wow). The bad guys are great, they are not evil emo demons or rivals from the samurai schools. They are adult Nazis, priest, etc. The style is great. It doesnt take place in Japan (NOT IN SCHOOL FTW), it take place in England. The atmosphere is dark, rainy, just like ol'England. There is no tentacular aliens, girly boys, useless female characters (Integra is the grand chief, even if she doesn't really fight. If you read the last manga, you'll see what she can do.), no boobs joke, no panty shot every minutes, no dead ninja parents and the animation is awesome. There is some bad points too (the humor is sometime bad, but let's not forget it's a japanese anime), that's why I prefer the 13 episodes.

BTW I know it has violence (alot, but not as much as the famous Ricky Oh), but I prefer that to boobs lazers and acid breast milk. At least it's not ridiculous.
