Yeah it's one of my hobbies..especially manga cuz for me good manga always amaze me..the art style story creativity etc
and it's pretty easy to find the weakest manga and anime..just get anything has harem, echchi and school life together, pretty much 90% them suck monkey butt...example: TO Love Ru = killed my brain cells
As for reccomendations for manga start with Onikiri Jyuzo and Vinland Saga
For anime it depends on the genre of your preference..I personally like anime like straitjacket, Hellsing, FMA, Full Metal Panic (does have overly sexualized girls but the action and comedy aspects are good to me), Sword of the stranger, Samurai Champloo, Baccano (takes patience for this one)

Baccano does start out horribly slow. My roommate showed me some of the better snippets of it from later on, but i watched the first episode and found it intolerable at the outset.
But i'm going to have to look for some of these, as i've spent my summer so far watching Queen's Blade and Ah My Goddess, aside from all of the big three. Qwazer and Rosario seem to be worth a look.
But i'll also recommend Full Metal Panic, both the regular series and Fumoffu are excellent.

Umm... Try Hellsing IMO (great animation, great story, great english voice actors). Quazer and Rosario are just pseudo sci-fi porn.

I've seen most of the OVAs of Hellsing, and it relates to those anime like MadWorld relates to Bayonetta, replacing mindless sex with mindless violence. A great series in its own right, but nothing more noble than the other.
