Wow, I cant believe they did that, such a shame

Not really, because nobody loses in a scenario like this. If they stopped making Sony exclusives altogether, I'd say otherwise. But with a new IP and Sony continuing to reap the benefits of exclusivity, nobody really loses here

Coming from one of the strongest advocates for exclusive games, I am quite surprised to hear you say that.   I know that Sony owns their 2 biggest IPs but why not this one.   Sure its only  publishing deal with EA Games but I cant imagine Sony wouldnt have published this game if given the opportunity.  Im just not happy about this,  I will still continue to buy there games because they are fantastic games,  but I ont think it is a smart move at all.

Well because in a situation like this, Sony still gets the game, their own exclusive games, and maybe even new IPs. If they lost any exclusivity, yes, I'd be the attack dog at the gates. But it isn't like this new IP was ever announced exclusive, so there's no losers here, really.

when an exclusive developer goes multiplatform it means that some/all of the future exclusives are lost. It's not like Insomniac was going to stop making games if they didn't sign the multiplatform deal. So essentially you are fine with lost exclusives so long as the name of the game hasn't been announced.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I really really hope they do. I want this series to return to its former glory days of the PS1

P.S: I thought Sierra basterdized the series or do Activision own them or something?

i think Spyro went to Universal interactive Studios, Sierra is owned by Activision.

somebody didnt read the article. INSOMNIAC just signed a deal with EA that its there still idependant + somebody owns spyro, so unless they give it up it wont happen. unless by merger you just cant take IP's from ppl

i never mentioned EA owning Insomniac.

never said you did?? just commenting on EA taking spyro like they have the option.... which cannot happen

If Activision was smart, they'd just contract Insomniac to develop a big budget new Spyro and then market the hell out of it. The mascot platformer genre isn't what it used to be, but an Insomniac made Spyro (if handled right) could be a HUGE seller.
