I suspect arguments could be started over such a statement. Maybe I start a poll and see what happens.

Yes, there would be arguments, and I'll also tell you honestly that I suspect that it would boil down to the FF6 fans versus the FF7 fans. I personally may not care for 7 as a game, but I do think it makes a decent entry point. (Although I would prefer 6 as an entry point.) Also, for those who are well-versed in WRPGs, 12 would also make a decent entry point. Of course, this all comes from someone who's entry point was 1...

As far as FF goes, while graphics will always matter a bit, it is more about the story. Start with FF 7 and then go up from their. FF9 should be on the PSN outside of Japan soon enough, so just do them in order.

Well worth every penny you would spend on them. Id also give FF XIII a shot, after you are finished. (Hell even look into FFX or FFXII if you have a PS2 or your PS3 is B/C)

Eh, you chose the one you wanted most, so I say you made the right choice. I probably would've chosen differently, but just because that's a long list of great games. R&C won't disappoint.

Yes, but it was also the safe choice.

I could have taken a risk and gone for a game that I might have liked a lot more than R&C, but I may have ended up hating it and really suffered from buyer's remorse. When PS3 was launched R&C was a franchise I was really looking forward to playing on the new console. But Valkyria Chronicles is my favourite game so far, followed by the 2 Uncharted games. VC was a risk that really paid off.
