Forums - Microsoft - Fable III LE looks awesome.

I'm not convinced... I am starting to realise how much money I have wasted on CEs, where they look kind of nice, but aren't really worthwhile, because all I will really do is glance at it and then leave it on my shelf. I do have the CEs for MW2 {hardened + statue of Soap!}, AC I & 2 {with statues!}, ME 1 & 2 and Gears 2. I also have the not quite so special CEs for inFamous, Dragon Age Origins (no map in Europe!), Heavy Rain, Ratchet aCiT and Fable II, and those last few are where I feel I have wasted my money. They fit into my games storage unit, but they stick out a bit, whereas the other ones can be stored seperately. They also provide very little content for an extra price

The thing that does concern me is that Fable II SE. They scaled it back near to launch, and in the end, all we got was a normal game with a cardboard sleeve and a different box art, so hopefully they won't do that again

I envy u that u have so many CEs. U should be happy now that u have so many. As long as the price ratio is $60 for regular compared to $80 for CE I think they're fairly worth it, if its games you really like.

What is the ratio usually? With Alan Wake the CE was only cost $10 more over here in Europe, which was a steal for such an incredible package.

"statue of Soap" lol

Alan Wake CE cost the same as the regular game in England.

Cool. But in general, whats your impression about what CEs cost in general compared to the regular versions?

Hell yes! My fiance pretty much always gets CE and LE for series he likes, and this is one of them. The extras are really great.

AW was a one off in price. Anything more than a tenner above actual selling price not RRP and it's too much unless they give you a Golden Lancer or something to justify the cost.

I assume a tenner is 10 Pounds.

But what is a Golden Lancer?

Pretty sure it came with the Gears LE that let's you have a golden lancer in multiplayer.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Wasn't there a really expensive CE for GoW that gave you a full size Lancer replica?
It probably wasn't golden.
Yes a tenner is £10. Not to be confused with a tanner which is worth a bit more than a Tenner
