When people post that the Wii has beaten the PS3 in Japan, or that it has beat 360 WW (maybe not) for 3 weeks, it's not to rub it in the face of anyone, it is to explain such a turnaround.  Eight months ago, the PS3 was being outsold by a 6:1 margin in Japan.  The PS3 could barely move ten thousand units a week.  The Wii was moving 60-70k or more per week to the PS3's 10k.  The reason we post that is because now, the PS3 is FINALLY fighting back.  Winning these past three weeks does not mean anyone is a "fanboy" or anything like that, it's just that I love it when someone does something that everyone thinks is impossible.  Eight months ago if I had said, the PS3 would outsell the Wii for three weeks following the release of SMG, or that the PS3 and 360 would be going toe-to-toe WW seven weeks after Halo 3, or just after the release of AC, CoD4, Mass Effect, GHIII or Rock band, people would have thought I was sipping the juice.  But now that these things have happened, I just like to point out that even after all of the bad business decisions Sony has made and the lack of public reception for this console, it's nice to see things starting to look better.

Yep, that's good for those that you describe, but some post just to make themselves feel good about their "investment"

It is nice to see things turn around for the PS3, I do hope it keeps it's head above water long enough to attract some good quality games.

But you see, it's because of the 40Gig model, which obviously was going to cause a spike in sales, all the Wii needs now is colours to dominate hard again in the same way the DS did to retake it's week by week sales lead over PSP.

I'm not trying to compare consoles, I'm trying to explain that posts proclaiming how things are starting to turn around for the PS3 don't make you a fanboy, just make you happy that they're doing better.

Most posters here seem to like the "us versus them" approach to the forums (like ArtofAngels) and will continue to take that approach regardless of your arguments and points to that it need not be as such.

Maybe I should rephrase myself. It's not that I'm not comparing consoles when I post good sony news, this thread is not comparing consoles. Also, there have been many threads about how bad the PS3 was doing in JP and now that it's turned around I want to also post the good, but no one wants to see how much the PS3 has overcome this year when it has to do with beating the wii. That's all I was trying to say.

I think however, the thread was made for something else. Even though he is comparing the consoles, he doesnt want to talk about that but rather the negative behaviour towards the PS3
