Most Western gamers like macho characters because they are worried people will think they're gay otherwise. There is a lot of insecurity among American geeks.

Its hilarious how a large amount of Western gamers will rather play a game staring a large muscular man and tons of gore or a guy parading around in tight spandex.  But put down people for playing a game like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest which focuses on women with revealing outfits and cute expressions.

And yet the people who play the game with the shirtless MACHO MAN is somehow suppose to be the more secure with his masculinity.

I like JRPGs but I'll be damned if this isn't accurate....and funny as hell to boot. As for Nier, instead of fighting over the look of the lead character they should have concentrated on making the game it self. Nier isn't very good. Also why could they go for a compromise character that could have appealed to both markets. Why'd they jump from girly 125lb emo to a macho 300lb gym rat? Couldn't they have made, I don't know 185lb guy that looked like young Auron from FFX?

Its not accurate.  Its only accurate if all you play is Kingdom Hearts/Final Fantasy.  Like any medium, there's more diversity than just the 'stereotypes'.  Its like saying all Platformer characters have a mustache and overalls.

Again:

"It isn't the case, though, want to see me doing the same about Japanese games?

You are a former agent of the world's greatest energy manufacturer, who joines with a terrorist organization who believe the manufacturer is destroying the planet, you begin a journey of love, tragedy, and a quest to find your foggy past.

You are a former sports player from a futuristic world, due to an encounter with a beast of immesurable strength you are washed 1,000 years into the future, where you find that all you once knew is destroyed, moreover, you find that your long lost father may have got there as well.

You are a retired governmant agent with a cool codename, you are sent to a former neuclear disposal facility in order to dispatch of the terrorist threat - You former unit, as the game continues you discover the truths and conspiracies behind your existence and what the government really want."

Now imagine me putting photos of Kratos, Marcus Fenix, Cole McGarth, Rico from KZ2, Nico from GTA4 etc...

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

The Queendom of Falena is a relatively rich land sustained by the Feitas River, which connects its disparate parts and enables trade and communication. It is ruled by Queen Arshtat and her husband Ferid, who have been a balancing and steady force since the demise of her somewhat rash mother. However, the tensions of the past have not been entirely settled. Arshtat's mother and aunt had been engaged in a covert struggle for power over the succession. Falena's government also has powerful nobles who maintain their own separate forces, loyal to them. Arshtat's hand in marriage was seen as key to gaining power in the future by the nobles; a civil war was narrowly averted when Ferid, a neutral outsider, won the Sacred Games and thus the right to marry Arshtat.
