Forums - Sony - Sony: Exclusive's are a thing of the past!

Really? So what about:

Gears trilogy, including 3 which was just announced?
Mass Effect trilogy, including 2 which just came out?
Splinter Cell Conviction, which just came out?
Dragon Quest X, which is eventually coming?
Monster Hunter 3?

Monster Hunter Frontier Online?
Tales of Graces?
Samurai Warriors 3?

There's probably a lot more but I can't be bothered to name them all.

The Wii is immune to that, since you have to build a different game altogether, new graphics and controls (well, mostly immune anyway... there are a few exceptions like No More Heroes, Call Of Duty and Sonic 4). So you can take it's games out of that list.

The others - minus gears, since it's almost a first party game this gen - I strongly believe will find home on the PS3. There's always the "risk", that's what he's saying. Nothing is truly exclusive anymore.

Well they had betst speak louder, cos the Wii ain't heard this

So... does this mean that Sony will be getting exclusive 3rd party games in a few months, right?

I mean, they said the same thing for rumble/vibration capabilities......

So... yeah

There are a lot of exceptions to that list

Basara 3, EA Sports Active 2, all the plenty of PS3/Wii/360 games, etc.

List is still good because the point of the list is to prove that there are still exclusive 3rd party games.

No real surprise. The cost to make a game is higher than ever.If you you want to get a 3rd party exclusive you got to pay the cash to get it.Sony did this to get Agent as an exclusive but I don't think we will see deals like that since sony is just started making money off the ps3.We will see some exclusive 3rd party games but a lot less.Until games get less costly to make this willl contiune people.

but with Natal an playstation 3's move ..that may no longer be the case. the one great thing about the Wii is an has alway's been it's control scheme, but what seperated it from the other two, will no longer be much of a seperator  soon for 3rd party's making game's only for the Wii based on motion control's.

this will be 3 now with motion control's to put their game on. even with Nintendo being in the lead, with Microsoft and Sony's machine between both of them has a very large chunk of it's own share of the market.

unlike last generation even though you have a strong market leader like the Wii, the other two machine's have a good chunk of the market to give you an incentive as a 3rd party to release their game on more than one machine. Would Nintendo pay for exclusive's?

In my Opinion Nintendo does not need to pay for 3rd party Wii exclusives. because their 1st party is very strong as it is.

I AM BOLO

100% lover "nothing else matter's" after that...

ps:

Proud psOne/2/3/p owner.  I survived Aplcalyps3 and all I got was this lousy Signature.

Of course there are, but they are exceptions to the rule. And he's talking about the rule, not about the exceptions.

It's the same thing to say... malaria is a thing of the past, but I bet there are lots of people who still dies from it everyday. But it is a thing of the past.

Anyway, sorry for the off-topic... but hey, look at me! 1000 posts! :)

I had this inner promise, now I can update my profile and stuff!
Good times, thanks vgchartz! :)

Verses XIII is probably no longer exclusive, but it's not because we messed up by not paying the developer off, it's because everything is changing magically around us, and we can't be expected to keep up with these amazingly trying times when developers actually want some incentive for keeping a game exclusive to our console, and we're just not willing to shell out more losses for the sake of the few hundred thousand hardcore Playstation fans who actually care this game was almost exclusive in the first place.

I never thought about that, it could be damage control.

Im still saying VF13 will be a late port to 360.
