Forums - Sales - MGS:Peacewalker sales in America and EU ?

Looking at the American pre-order charts for MGS Peacewalker the number of pre-orders seems to be dropping... and the game isn't even at the 100K mark yet. Last week it was 10K pre-orders. This week 6K. Don't pre-orders normally go up the closer to release date ? not down....

Do you think this game is going to slump outside of Japan ?

As we can see from the charts this game has done very well in Japan with already almost 600K sold.

But Japan also happens to be the PSPs strongest market.

How do you think PeaceWalker will perform on in the US and do you think Kojima made the right choice picking the PSP as it's console.

the game will probably sell 4 million if you count all the pirates i reckon 45 out of the 60 million psps are hacked

It's going to utterly bomb in the west. So will KHBBS. These games really should've been on other systems...

Pirated games don't count as sales ...

Well for KHBBS maybe Yes, but Peacewalker really didn't have any other system to go to if you think about it.Hideo Kojima is a mega Sony fanboy. All the MGS games are on Sony platforms and not too long ago MGS 4 was for PS3 so they couldn't just release another MGS on the PS3 again. Instead they had to pick the only other Sony platform which was the PSP.

The Twin Snakes wasn't.  Neither was Ghost Babel, though that being a full "Solid" release is debatable.

Honestly, I think even a low spec PSN release on PS3 probably would do better worldwide than the PSP release will.  PSP is dead in the west, and franchises like MGS or KH (which are overwhelmingly most popular in the west) really are misplaced there.

My first PSP was hacked so I could play SNES + NES games on it. But when I bought my new one I never even bothered.

I don't like people who pirate new games. But games that are forever old I don't really mind.

I'm getting it. I just haven't pre-ordered yet.
