Forums - Gaming - Anyone else shop Toys R Us instead of Gamestop for games?

I used to shop at Gamestop. I mean it made sense. A store built around games. Hell my town just became game central, with it's own Gamestop coming here a few months ago and a Play N Trade following shortly thereafter. I haven't really tried Play N Trade, but I know I rarely go to Gamestop these days. I go to Toys R Us, also in my town (Told you, game central!) and I'm not on the "Gamestop sucks" bandwagon, but they kinda do ... Am I the only one, who more often than not, will walk into a Gamestop and find a new game is not available? Last time it was Super Mario Bros Wii. I went the day of release or the very next day. I asked why they didn't have anymore, and I was told they ordered enough to cover the preorders, and like an extra ten copies for the general public. And that was it. They were out. It'd be another week until they go it in. So I go to Toys R Us, they have it in stock AND I got a $10 gift card with my purchase. That I used in the future. In fact, the past three games I bought from Toys R Us (All Nintendo first party games) came with a gift card I could use for future purchases.

So when I'm ready for my Galaxy 2 kick, I'm going to Toys R Us. And will probably once again, get a gift card. Without even having to preorder. Honestly, there are few (if any) preorder bonuses through gamestop that can beat 'cash' that you can use later, to buy other stuff. Hell, Toys R Us even had some decent bonuses, again without having to preorder. I got a gift card and a kick ass stylus pen for the DS (That I love and adore) when I bought a Pokemon game for the DS.

No....

I usually go to Gamestop, since pre-ordering basically guarantees a game and they're not douches at my store.

I do, but mine doesn't have any games. That's where I buy final fantasy and other big name games. I go to best buy as well. I don't like gamestop, because they take just a small discount on used games and the game companies get none of the profit. I do buy used games on ebay as well as it's cheaper, the actual person selling the game gets money as well. :D... sorry about my biased towards gamestop.

Amazon all the way (Unless it is a big midnight release where a bunch of us get together and go to have fun) then its always Gamestop.

I dropped Gamestop years ago. I've been loyal to Amazon ever since. I look at TrU when they have the Buy 2 get one free promotion going on.

Ebay, Amazon and sometimes Toys R US. That is it.
