Forums - Sony - Final Fantasy XIII, the best ever?

Unfortunately, now that FF finally adds a new female lead, the developers have described her as "a female version of Cloud" which means she'll be nothing like Terra, and I'll probably dislike her.

That is what makes me think I will love Lightning as much as I loved Cloud.

I sure hope female Cloud means female FFVII Cloud and not female Advent Children Cloud. They're like two completely different characters...

Cloud is already a girl

 sora is a girl

Cloud(FFVII), Tidus(FFX) and Auron(FFX) were in my opinion the best Final Fantasy characters ever!

Nah, FF13 will have the same problem X and 12 did, far too much focus on graphics, combat system changes and showing off how "unique" the world is and not enough focus on character development and plot.

character development really wasnt the main focus of FFXII it was fighting and protecting a nation.

i hated tidus, but Auron was da shit

"1) Battle Mode
FFXIII will retain the fast-paced, real-time battle system seen in FFXII, relying on command inputs to decide a scrap. "

I lost interest right there, I played this interface on FFXI for 4 years and it destroyed FFXII for me and if FFXIII is the same... I'll pass..

And god damnit Cloud was so wussy >.> Locke, Setzer, Celes, Kain, Cecil >.> those are characters damnit!

Well then again Tidus was kind of a let down, he was a soft kid in that game. Auron was sort of a serious, I-need-to-get-the-job-done type of dude. But Tidus was a little to sissy for me too

@souixan

You see I said the same thing earlier that. After I heard that they were going to use the same system like how it was in Final Fantasy XII, my interest level went straight back to zero for the PS3 and for the game.

Let's just wait till we see the gameplay though.

Futuristic story and new battlemode turned me right off 12 and will do the same with 13.

Here here!

Male FF characters became too girly after VI.  With the notable exceptions of  FFIX's characters and Auron from FFX.

Also Jessman there was nothing Futuristic about Ivalice in XII.  In fact, that's one of the few things they did right.  A fantasy setting > a sci-fi setting.
