I hate how Final Fantasy has become so futuristic... That's why my favorite on PS1 is FF9... I prefered the more magical and medieval theme... It feels more like fantasy and less like technology. I read somewhere that the Summon Spirits will be half mecanical beings in FF13 (Shiva being the blonde dude's motorcycle)... Huge turn off.

One of the only RPG that I like the futuristism is Star Ocean (well even in that game you spend about 70% of time on under developped planets). I tolarate it because it is ment to be a Sci-fiction RPG and it's very well thought. Have anyone here read the whole dictionnary in SO3? I did! XD

the battle system seems a lot more like KOTOR. I loved that one, FF 12 not as much. It isn't a copy over, b/c the FF10 battle director is the battle director for 13.

Final Fantasy XII battle system was horrible in my opinion. I tried to play the game for about 2 hours and got turned off by the battle system quickly. I then really wanted to revert back to Final Fantasy X battle system.

If Final Fantasy XIII has the same battle system as Final Fantasy XII, then it looks like that game is coming off "My Favorite PS3 games List" then. I would certainly look forward to Final Fantasy versus XIII. Since that game will have a sort of Kingdom Hearts-type battle system.

I would just enjoy Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey on the Xbox 360 for my conventional battle system I'm use to.

People, let's try to keep RPGs and the silly things the Japanese call RPGs separate here. It's not like there are any similarities other than gaining XP and leveling up. =P

Seriously though, it looks like a very promising game, but I don't think there's enough to say if it'll be the best FF or not. Most FF fans seem to decide their favorite based on the characters and plot anyway, and we know almost nothing of those so far.

We need a "dark" FF again..Like 4,6,7.

Anyway, I don't like the idea of the FFXII battle system being back.  Next they're going to tell me it's stupidly easy like FFXII too and that the Gambit system is back allowing me to autopilot the game.  No thanks. 

ok posting a fan made video of things that never happened doesn't really mean anything. You can find videos bashing just about anything. Of course it's popular to hate FFVII and people will just keep bashing it for no reason. Cloud was hardly emo in FFVII and he acted nothing like that in the game. He fought to save the world, he had friends, he made jokes. Selfish at first? Sure. Emo? No. Cloud was cocky as hell and always boasting about how badass he was. That's hardly him saying he wasn't strong enough.

As for Vincent, being a hidden character and all he barely said anything. But I'll admit sleeping in a box for all eternity because you failed at something is pretty emo. 

FFXIII greatest ever? It might be the best looking one (though I personally like the painted 2D better) but I seriously doubt it will be the greatest FF game ever. It will have to work to beat FFVII and I don't think it will trump FFVI.

Not saying it won't be a great game and that it can't beat the better FF games, but with SE's track record lately for FF games, I'll believe it when I see it.
