That's a typical and illogical argument. Using your inane theory Halo 1 and 2 sales would've been 6 times higher on the PS2. I don't think so. People don't buy games just because it's on their system. 

I'm one of those that did fall for the hype and picked up Halo 3. Ever since the first week I haven't even tried to play a game once. COD4 is by far a better game, and I'm certain that MGS4 will be even better.

I fell for teh hype too, I think CoD4 is a better game than that, but the hype surrounding H3 is sooooo much, I don't think that MSG4 has/will have that type of hype, thus, not as high of sales.

I used to think that too, but it's actually the lesser hyped games that do better in the long run.

Every Halo game in history has outsold every Metal Gear Solid game in the history of man. Halo 2 has outsold every Final Fantasy game in the history of man.

If any game is going to outsell Halo it will be GT5.

Considering that no MGS game has been able to outsell a Halo game with roughly five times the userbase installed, there is no way that MGS4 will outsell Halo3. In fact, it won't even sell as many copies in its life as Halo moved in two months (roughly 6m).

That's not even taking into account the fact that the 360 userbase is double the PS3 userbase this time around.

You've made a fool of yourself twice now 'eugene'. VGCHARTZ is unreliable for past video game sales. Also it's well known that Final Fantasy VII is the second best selling game on the original PSX, selling almost 10 million. No Halo game comes close to that.

He's hardly "making a fool of himself" by quoting VGC numbers on VGC. Sorry, but I'll trust ioi and his immense resources and determination to get things right over some anonymous bozo with a computer, access to the internet, and the ability to type "www.wikipedia.org".

No way. I don't think any PS3 game will outsell Halo 3 in America or WW. But in Japan, quite a few will...:)
