The Resident Evil 4 port to Wii has been confirmed.  It will use the wiimote, have the gc graphics, and the added content from the ps2 version.

Why is it a joke?

because its an extremely good game, and its only comming out for the wii. and hes a sony fan, (according to his avatar). i have actually only ever played 1 resident evil game (i dont know why) and its just the 1st one made for the DS. it was really good. good gameplay, worked the touch screen in well, great story line and cutscenes. i know the gamecube version of RE4 got one of the best reviews for any of the last gen games, so im definatly gonna have to pick it up for the wii, especially with the wiimote geting worked into it, it should be real fun. (and it may seem like they are just releasing the same game, but working that motionsensitivity into can change the whole feel for the game, a huge improvment with a great new expirience).

Sounds sweet - exactly as expected. And it comes with a trailer/preview of the new RE. As long as we don't gte *too* ripped off, I'll almost certainly get this - been itching to replay RE4 for a while now - and this will make it all the sweeter! :)

I beat RE4 already on the cube so unless they really sell it for $30 I'm not bothering with it.  It's not surprising Capcom would do this, they spent a huge amount of time and money on RE4 and it didn't sell as well as they would have liked.  This project has low costs since the Wii is the same architecture as the GC and Capcom can tap into the growing Wii market and anyone who didn't play the game the first time or second time.

To add on to HappySquirrel's comment, something sure beats nothing as the PS1 vs N64 showed.  RE4 is easily one of the best games from the last generation and it didn't get played by as many people as it should have.  So long as Capcom doesn't try to charge $50 for it then it's a great deal for Capcom, the Wii, and gamers.  I'm guessing the second benefactor is the source of your bitterness Hus.

It is old, but by no means dated.  Old games get re-released all the time and are still popular. This is a grahpically updated version of the ps2 version.  My thinking was that anyone who hasn't played this game yet could now play it for wii.  I've never played it and I know it wasn't the best selling game.  I think its rumored at $30 so that's all and good.
