Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 360 Sales Charts & Discussion: November 24th (now with Euro-SW)

I see that no one mentions that MS has just disclosed the number of X360 SHIPPED worldwide and it is just 13.4 million .Shipped ,remember .So vgchartz putting the sold to customer data about 13.8 million is absolutely impossible .

BTW, I see you don't have totals of PES 2008 yet. Though if you look at the European Chart and click on PES 2008 on Xbox 360, total is 620,000, so I think 1,000,000 lifetime is a bit low.

You aint found shit!

Shipped... since October 25th.  It's been over a month since that number was announced.

They've probably just shipped more units.  Companies have been known to do that.

Theres no mention to October 25 anywhere in this .So the number is for the amount of consoles shipped since launch to the day of the announcement ,that has been two days ago .

If you have any data or link that points to MS announcement being only until 25 october then link it ,but as it is the announcement isnt until 25 october but until the current week .

They could be fortune tellers, this cold be shipped till October, or microsoft hasn't shipped any consoles since October.

Which do you think is most likely?

The press release that came with their claim of being 2 to 1 on black friday was just an old one from last month.  Some people have mistaken it, and the magical game of telephone that blogs and the interent like to do have misreported it.

Maybe the webpages have commited a mistake and put as todays news something from one month ago .In any case its pretty much clear that having shipped 13.4 million by 25 october and with tons of stock all over the world they cant have 13.8 sold to customers right now .Just remember when they gave the 10.4 million mark last december...they had millions of consoles out there and I dont see any less stock in the stores today than then .

In any case its curious how the page adjusts to the shipments figures ....when theres some annuoncement of shipped numbers by Nintendo and MS the numbers are adjusted if its for the better in no time ,while when Sony gives their numbers the numbers are adjusted buy only a small percentage of the pointed discrepancy .Example when Nintendo and Sony gave their results last month ,data for Wii was changed to adjust Nintendo shipped figure but Sonys figures were changed slighty to under half a million the number reported by Sony .

Diomedes -

Time will tell exactly how many X360s have sold. Nevertheless, we have 100% accurate US, Canadian and Japanese Charts, with alot more accuracy in Europe thanks to Italy, UK and a few other's being close.

I don't think they're off by much. You just hate the Xbox 360, and hope it fails, and try to use every possible excuse to criticize VGC data when it "doesn't go your way". You do that with MC-Famitsu when PS3 sales are lower.

The fact is, this site has never, ever adjusted it's figures for shipment data. If anything, the shipment data confirmed alot. I think the only time that VGC data had to re-balance data due to shipping was when the Wii launched, and Nintendo announced only 3.2m units had been shipped and sold as of the EOY.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

So you missed all the threads about versions of Xbox 360's being sold out in many American retailers then on Black Friday?  For there to be a sell out in some areas that would seem to indicate they were pretty low on stock... because America loves their 360's.

As for Sony and Nintendo, that's pretty obvious.  Wii's have a much higher sell through rate the PS3's.  Duh.  Sony has been stuffing their retail channels in all 3 regions, just look at the "Piles of PS3's available on black friday" threads.  They were stuffing the retail channel so they could miss their planned shipping goals for less.

The Wii however still disapeered on apperance in most American stores.

Your error lies in you ignoring the US.  The biggest market in console sales, and focusing on where you live, one of the smallest markets in the world, where you "don't see any less stock."

Not to mention a large number of stores(all?) keep a lot of their stock in their backrooms anyway, so it's not like you could accurately judge levels of stock.

Mass Effect US first week sales were undertracked by VGC, I'm pretty sure.. just look at the US/euro-ratio, it's too low. If the euro number of 130K is correct then it probably sold ~250K in NA.

But that is still a huge disappointment for ME. I was expecting 4-500K for opening week NA. But like erikers said, hope it has long legs á la Oblivion...

Keep up the good work mrstickball, u rule.
