I did a top 12 to start with. Will update with Japanese numbers later today/Thursday.

Notes:

#1. Assassain's Creed. Despite poor reviews, this game has done huge. 1.2m in 2 weeks, and a strong hold in Europe (as well as a 50/50 split this week) is great. Definately a strong game for the X360 in Europe. Expect strong sales for the rest of the year. 2.5m might be low, but I predict strong dropoff post-Christmas.

#2. Mass Effect. Unfortunately, sales were much lower than anticipated, but I have faith that since it's such a strong title, it will have strong Oblivion-like legs. I'd expect 150k+ per week until the end of Christmas....Hopefully.

#3. Call of Duty 4. Another game that is doing very well in Europe. Sales have been incredibly strong for the game as a great post-Halo 3 title. Expect continued strong sales for the rest of the year, and into next year.

#4. Need for Speed: Pro Street. A very strong debut. NFS is a strong Christmas series. Expect huge legs for the rest of Christmas, then a huge drop in the US. Europe sales should bolster sales for quite awhile. 1.5m is about the minimum.

#5. Guitar Hero 3. A strong European debut for a strong American game. It should have some legs in Europe, and very strong legs in the US.

#6. Halo 3. Wow, it has strong legs in Europe. IMO, VGC (where I got the LTD #s) seems to have h3 numbers quite a bit low due to Europe. I don't think they've adden European LTD sales since week 3....I'd think H3 numbers might be 200,000 units higher, maybe more. Everyone laughed when I said H3 would hit 13m worldwide eventually. With Halo 2 still selling well, and an easy 7m+ (maybe even 7.5m) 2007 campaign, I would expect strong sales next year too.

#7. Kang & Lynch. Ironically, the game has good sales in Europe too. Definately an average game to get caught in the mix of everything else. However, it's seemed to do well thus far, and will get very good sales for Christmas.

The rest aren't too notable. Simpsons probably would be higher due to European sales. Everything seems pretty strong, sans Mass Effect's weak debut.

I'm a little disappointed by Mass Effect. But I hope it will have great legs because the game deserves it.

What do you expect from Assassins Creed in japan I'm going for 40 k - 45 k and 7,8 k hardware.

IMO, AC could hit around 75k lifetime. From what I've seen, retailers are actually anticipating strong sales.

great read, and i also am a little dissapointed with Mass Effect

Sorry, but I have to ask: what does LTD mean?

I think it's the worst week for the 360 this year !!
Mass Effect has really bad start for game like this ..
WII software > 360 software even with Forza and the other game..
PS3 and PSP bigger than 360 WW
hope 360 will lead them next week

Stop worrying about Mass Effect. Rainbow Six Vegas first week sales were 134,168 in the same time period last year, Call of Duty 3 did 163,770, and Oblivion debuted at 259,524. All of these titles are going to end up above 2 million worldwide. Oblivion can reach about 2.3-2.4 and it's first week sales weren't that much bigger than Mass Effect.

Good games always sell the longest and Mass Effect will eventually reach 2 million or close to it. It will probably be Bioware's best selling console game ever and I'm sure they will be very happy in the end.

Completed XBLA: 16 / 32
Completed Retail: 17 / 64
GS Completion %: 82.63%

Yep 2m + ww for ME ensuring 2 and 3 are made...

Updated with 2 Japanese numbers, since the rest are so low.
