This thread is about launch sales, Immortal. And I have only mentioned launch sales about twice, but it has nothing to do with the argument at hand.
Portables Ops is a prequel, a spin off, just like Halo Wars, so why shouldn't they be compared using your logic?
MGS sold 5.59 million and MGS2 sold 5.56, where as Halo has sold 6.43 and 2 has sold 8.24 million. Proof: http://vgchartz.com/worldtotals.php
At the moment, Halo 3 has about the same sales as MGS3 Snake Eater in the others category. At the moment, it isn't that bigger and Halo 3 will probably surpass it next week. Whether its a prequel or sequel, it is still the third installment in the Metal Gear Solid series. |
I'm aware of the thread title but i'm talking about overall sales. I'm sure you've seen threads diverge a little in the past. Portable Ops is a spin off, but it's also a handheld game, your arguments are getting a bit deperate now, no offense.
Lol, that's your proof? VGCHARTZ is about as reliable as wikipedia when it comes to past video game sales - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_video_games
Metal Gear Solid - 6.6 million
Halo - 5 million
Metal Gear Solid 2 - 7 million
Halo 2 - 8 million
Even without Substance which is essentially the same game, MGS wins.
And again, you're using the same argument. Regardless of the number '3' being in the title, it's still a prequel, not even to the MGS games, but to the NES games. Like I said, compare a spin-off to a spin-off.
