Forums - Microsoft - Shall I keep it or sell it..?

First post on the Microsoft forum, so hello everyone

I've just managed to get an Arcade 360 with NFS Shift via the CokeZone reward thingy (if anyone wants an invite then feel free to PM me your email address, we both get 20 points when you add 10 - sorry for the plug lol) and am undecided whether to keep it or sell it!

I've also got a PS3 and Wii so having the 360 as well will make me an omni-gamer so am thinking of keeping it...maybe.

Not too sure what the Arcade comes with in terms of cables and controllers and stuff, am guessing that it'll have a memory thingummybob to save games on, composite cable, network cable and a wireless controller..?

Am thinking about getting a hard drive for it, 1 year LIVE Gold membership and maybe a wireless network adapter, and am living in the UK so if you can tell me where to get them as cheaply as possible I'd be very grateful as well as any cheap and cheerful game suggestions. I love WRPGs, Shooters but not so keen on driving games or puzzle games...and since playing Pro Evo on the Wii I'm not going anywhere near any other football game on any other console ever again. It's worth buying a Wii for on its own if you're a football fan, and that's no exaggerration!!!

I already have Dead Space, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Bioshock, The Orange Box and Borderlands so any suggestions apart from those 6 games would be very welcome. Thanks in advance!

if you don't need money keep it (it has good selection of arcade games)
but the thing is Microsoft might announce new xbox360 at E3 if you want the new one sell this and wait until E3 .If you don't care about new hardware just keep this .

You should give Fable 2 and Dead Rising a try they are both cheap and might be to your liking.

You should defiantly keep it , the 360s got loads of great games comin out and natal might be good. You should also try mass effect 1 and 2 coz there great WRPGs.
I also live in the uk and you can find the cheapest stuff for the 360 online , u should try play.com and amazon.

End of 2012 prediction:

xbox 360 : 73-75 million  playstation 3 : 72-74 million  wii : 104-105 million

Most hyped for :

Bioshock: infinte, The Last Of Us, Alan Wake's American Nightmare and Agent

What's the point if they serve one purpose at the end of the day? If he hadn't bought one already, ok. But there's no point in selling just to buy a new model which will play the same games.

OT: As Chris Hu said, give Fable 2 and Dead Rising a try.

I also think you should buy Bayonetta, both Mass Effect games, and Left 4 Dead.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

@hauxiong90
two things:
1. Microsoft might reduce the price for new hardware ( so he can buy ELITE instead of ARCADE)
2. they probably change the motherboard so it can be more reliable ( don't get me wrong even right now it is reliable but it can be more reliable )
as i said if he doesn't care to have the slim version there is no point to sell this and buy another one

You mentioned that you like WRPG, in that case the 360 is a must have unless you already have a gaming PC. I don't want to talk bad about the PS3 but in the WRPG department it really isnt competition for the 360. Sure with Bioware going multiplat they arent missing out on future AAA WRPG but the 360 already has Mass Effect 1/2. Those games are mustbuys for any selfrespecting WRPG fan. Then there is also Fable 2 and a good amount of PC/360 exclusive WRPG such as Divinity 2 and Two Worlds.

The PC still has many exclusive WRPG but most of them are just the classics and with Fable 2 being exclusive the 360 is the best gaming platform this gen when it comes to WRPG.

EDIT: I forget to mention but with the 360 you also have access to lastgen's best WRPG. Games like Morrowind, Fable, Knights of the old Republic and Jade Empire.

can you post a link to your cokezone reward page? The one in the states has crappy rewards...

Thanks for the advice everyone, think I'll keep it now I've been thinking about it.

By the way, how do I go about adding the consoles I own to my avatar..? Might as well add them now I have them all apart from the DS lol.

For the hard drive can I just use any IDE hard drive or do I have to pay an arm and a leg for the official Microsoft ones..?

Edit: Cheers Grey21...completely forgot about the old Xbox games, should be able to pick those up as cheap as chips :oD

The arcade unit comes with a standard wireless controller, composite AV cable (yellow video plug plus the L/white and R/red audio), and 512Mb built-in storage (no memory card).

If you want a hard drive, you will have to buy an official one, but there are obscure methods to put a larger capacity HD in the enclosure. You'll also get three months of XBL gold when you buy the HD.
