Hmm. I love all Final Fantasy's Core Games 1-13 even the online one (it's just a time sinkhole), and most direct sequals or prequels. I also will say, that outside of mario and duck hunt, I really don't enjoy 2D games. I know thats weird but yeah. Well for me

1. FFX
2. FFVIII
3. FFXIII
4. FFVI
5. FFIX

Now let me explain. In My sig I have Final Fantasy X and X-2. I loved X-2 so it's easily my #1 FF experience. I guess I should call it my favorite game experiences in my sig. Which allows me to ignore certain spinoffs etc. But I guess for best FF games. I'm going to not bunch X-2 and X together and VII, CC, Dirge. Thus, 7 falls quite a lot for me.

I will be honest As I like Fast Paced Combat, thus FFX-2 and FFXIII, FFVIII(I loved the junction system actually) are my favorite battle systems.

Also One of my favorite things about the series is the Extremely varied Universes.

Also with XIII I loved the soundtrack as it atleast, and I love Uematsu, but I wouldn't really want any other soundtrack for the. My favorite with Uematsu's was 4,6,7,8, and X (except for he didn't do it all) And I know that's half the series. But I would put 13 in with them. But, the music has always been phenomenol. Even in FFIX, I felt to be his most inconsistent had tons of great songs. Just seemed a bit inconsistent to me.

Hopefully I made sense.

Ehhh, no.

You know Uematsu had nothing to do with FF13? (The music in FF13 was the weakest in the entire series, yes even moreso than the 8-bit ones)

FFIX IMO has the second best soundtrack in the series (FF7 being #1). Well, I'm not sure actually. They're really close.

Yes I meant to say hamauzu. I am confusing when I write on here. I never said that Uematsu wrote 13 I just implied it by accident. I like 9's indivudual songs however, I didn't really like it as a soundtrack personally though I know lots of people loved it.

You may want to rethink that, as the NES FF's had some pretty forgetable OSTs.

Here's the best example from FFIII OST

And here's the best example from FFXIII OST:

I was going for emphasis.

I do believe that FF13 has pretty poor music.

@dtewi

he clearly states he knows uematsu didn't make the OST for FFXIII so his post does make sense, stop attacking him for his opinion!

@lestatdark

I like this song from FF13 more (from 1:30 onwards):

The whole soundtrack of XIII shocked me, I expected it to be bad since Uematsu didn't make it! It actually became my fav soundtrack this gen, but at the end of the day its not as good as 6, 8, 9 or 10's.

He didn't clearly.

And I was stating my opinion.

Oh and this scene in FFXIII nearly made me bleed to death

@ HAHAHAHAHA Scene

its actually not bad, it shows that it was a forced laugh, since they all were so gloomy because only tidus didn't know the truth , so he tried to cheer them up, but it obviously didn't laugh quite right.

whoever said that laugh is bad acting, doesn't get it, it was intentional.

I don't care if it was intentional, you don't put that shit in a video game.

It's basically torture to the ears and they drag it out for minutes. You don't do that, and they suck for doing that.

Darth D:, that part has it's own song called miracles.  Also at my post I forgot to clearly state Hamauzu so I edited it and then you read it so you thought I clearly stated.

@severance

exactly, the laugh was intentional!!

People tend to forget the characters have huge amounts of pressure on them, they need to save the world!

Thats why I don't get the "{insert FF character} is whiny!" complaint, if I was in their position I would have given up, they are allowed to whine!

No miracles is a FANTASTIC TRACK, one of the best I've heard. Actually it might be my favorite track from the game!

But the one I posted is different from it, it sounds different. Miracles is like the sad version of the prelude track.
