There are just so many different dimensions to look at without a clear perspective on the background of what the individuals or that doll represents, one cannot give a decent advice.

I believe Twestern summed it best in the 2nd post, and Dtewi gave some good advice too... just ask the prof, as that is probably the simplest answer. Simple serves best.

Well, I didn't ask the professor, but I asked the girl who gave me the doll yesterday. It seems I misunderstood her (she gave it to me seconds before my exam was starting so I didn't have time to ask her at that moment).
It seems that my teacher recieved the doll a couple of years ago from someone who wanted him to reconnect with his inner child. He (my teacher) told the girl to give me the doll as a present and to tell me to think about why he gave it to me.

The good news: he's not gonna fail me and I can keep the doll
