@Picko : I've calculted Wii's average without Mario Party 8 and it goes down to 19,031 so still slightly above 360 or PS3 but then again I don't see why we shouldn't count Mario Party...

@Grimboyjr : The numbers are basically the average sales for titles that have been out for 6 months or more for each console/handheld. Hope that clears it up for you...

I only mentioned it because MP is a bit of a statistical outlier. Its not a big deal but the MP results certainly skew the Wii's results upwards. I just figured it was a point worth acknowledging :)
Mario Party may be doing much better than that others, but it would be unfair to eliminate the best one of a group from an average. If you feel that way than use the median instead of mean.
Also a 3 month charting would be interestin too. I think that would be even more in Nintendo's favor. Games like RE4 and BBA have great sales and are just shy of 6 months.
I think examinations like this are important for viewing how a game systems library is viewed and how it is filling out. Simply by the amount of titles the Wii has almost caught up to the 360 in two years. As software is purported to be the weak link in the Wii.
Remember it is these titles that keep being restocked by stores and develop permanant placement. The larger quanity of these games with legs means more shelf space at the store to capture mindshare of the consumer.
Final* Word on Game Delays:
The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.
Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.
Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.
